Tasty smoked shrimp and fish, great fried seafood too. Crab cakes were beyond plentiful! Cash only. Great service. Carry out and dine out.

Calumet Fisheries is truly a hidden gem of Chicago - "hidden" because it is a small establishment ( you can't dine in) nestled on the far, far south side of Chicago. A "gem" because the food is fantastic. The smoked fish is delicious and any item I have ordered off the menu has always been satisfying (the catfish dinner is pictured here). The place is cash only but there is an ATM available if need be. Tradition holds that on a nice, sunny day you park your car on the street, order your food, and then sit in the car with your family and eat while enjoying each other's company.

WOW! This is absolutely worth the drive from Chicago!!! They only take cash- Note, because I never carry cash. We love the off the beaten path places like this. We had the fried catfish & fried shrimp dinners. They were delicious! We bought smoked salmon & trout to go. We love smoked fish & no better place to get it than here. Out back there was a young man chopping wood and tending to the smoke house. We ate on the picnic tables there and watched the sailboats come in down the River. The bridge even goes up to let them by. We will be back again soon! It’s a must stop if coming home from Michigan or Indiana. Make an afternoon and visit Big Marsh as well!

Yes. Very safe. Safer than going to a Bulls game.......but bring your gun just in case.
now that is a great question, i am gping to assume theh do but u can call and make certain
There's a good chance. But if you come around lunch time, there might be too many cars on the street already and you might have trouble finding enough room.
Bring your own cause I've never seen it here
No, I called and spoke with them yesterday and they let me know they reopen the day after New Year’s Day
