Small quaint library 4 blocks from the beach, it has all you need. Estimate of about 20-25 computers available for use and space for reading/lounging. During summer they sometimes show movies outside in the courtyard. Friendly staff as well. Grateful we have a local library 📚

BE VERY CAREFUL!!! The library changed it's policy and now allows junkies to sleep inside the library. Be careful where you sit as there may have been a very unhygienic junkie in that chair! Parking at the library you will quickly encounter local junkies talking to themselves and dismantling stolen bikes on the library grass. The library is no longer safe for children or the elderly! Very sad as the library used to be a great place for families!

Do not take your children to this library! The homeless clutter the parking lot, grass area, and the front of the library. I've been yelled at and harassed by these people multiple times. This last time was my final straw- a homeless man masturbating near the entrance. I was with my 3 year old daughter! This place is trash and unsafe. PB has gone downhill and the police take hours to show up! I go to La Jolla library now.

Great location with ample parking all around. Plenty of computers and places to work. I love coming here to get work done away from home. Only give it a 4 because security is useless. Often times transient people are loud and annoying and the library staff seems indifferent. Beyond that, half the time i go someone seems to think it is OK to pick up the cell phone and have a long convo. Overall though it is a nice community library.

Currently we are only open for contactless pickup service. The closest libraries with computers and printing are the Point Loma and La Jolla Branches. Details on services and hours are available at https://www.sandiego.gov/public-library/in-person-library-services
The Pacific Beach Library is open with limited library services available in the Community Room: Monday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
We prefer to have all donations brought inside when we are open.
Yes, you do need a library card. It only takes a few minutes to get one. Bring an ID.
As of 2/16/21, we only have the 540 2EZ in both English & Spanish. We have not yet received the standard 540 or 540 NR (for non-residents).
Place a hold online for what you want or call our staff at 858-581-9934. Call us again when you are ready to pick up, then tell your library card number so that we can check the items out to you. Staff will then place the items on a table outside of the Reed Ave entrance (on the south side) for your Contactless Pick-up.
The remaining dates for this year’s AARP-Tax Aide service at the PB Library have been cancelled.
