Has anyone ever spoken to anyone that works here? This is horrible.

I went with my Wife and Toddler for ITIN application today. The guard and the officer, both were very pleasant, patient, helpful and welcoming. Loved the complete experience. The guard even gave us a table to keep our documents so that we don't have to hold it till my turn. Everyone was very nice to everyone. Thank you ! An advice to the applicants- Please make sure that you take appointments before coming. The office is trying hard to accommodate the applicants without appointments also, but if somebody shows up with an appointment, then the ones without appointments will be pushed back in the line and may have to wait till there is gap with no appointments.

I would recommend trying another office, it'll probably still be terrible, but less so. Staff is very impatient and rude. I've been waiting for a month and a half for an appointment, to do something that I was never informed I could do online. I learned that information from another customer. Basically if you come here, make sure that you are already a tax professional, as they demean you and have a higher than thou attitude for every question that you have. Also, my appointment was at 11:00. I showed up to the office at 10: 20 to check in, came back at 10:55, and I was just called to be seen at 12:30. Even with an appointment, you are going to end up waiting more than an hour, at least. To the staff, if you were more patient with answering questions, people wouldn't have as many. If you anticipated how people needed help, (because it's your expertise, and your job), you wouldn't have people taking up more time than necessary to fix their issues. Looking for any opportunity to snap, or be rude, or respond in a passive aggressive way, is very childish and not meant for a work setting. And my two hours sitting in this office I did not see one person leave without getting some type of attitude or subtly demeaning comment. Work on your professionalism. The security guard is cool though, he maintained his attitude and was very understanding. He was even the one to inform me why the wait was taking so long and when I would likely be called; not the man at the front desk(whose job it is). Thank you for that, I appreciated someone having a little empathy. I know this review won't affect anything because you guys are a part of the federal government and they're not going to stop paying you, but maybe you should really take a good long look at yourself. If you didn't want to be a tax professional for the rest of your life, maybe you shouldn't have gone for it. Don't take your frustrations out on people that are already frustrated, just because you know they can't respond in the same manner that you talk to them without security having to be involved. Shameful job guys

I HAVE QUESTIONS ON MY 2020 AND 2021 TAX YEAR WHICH HAS BEEN FILED.
This is a complex question and is handled on a case by case basis.
You do not. Just walk up to the front desk and they'll point you too the correct formsplace
You can do that on-line. Www.irs.gov. That information can be disclosed to you if your intent is to pay the balance in full at that time. If it's not a joint liability. It would be useful to have you husband fill out and sign a form 8821 tax information authorization.
You can download them online by visiting irs.gov/transcript or make an appointment by calling 1-844-545-5640
Yes
Anything other than payment drop off and current year return submission requires an appointment. Many services can be achieved over the phone as well as on the website. Walk-ins without an appointment, can only be served if there is available staffing to accommodate. Also be wary of phone scams.
Go to irs.gov and type in EIN in the search box then apply online. Should take about 20-30 minutes. Take a screen shot then print out the letter.
This is the result of continued budget limitations on the agency especially when there is increased demand for services over the last 2 years. Imagine all of a sudden having 6 times as many phone calls coming in to an already starving system.
Yes, its just like trading stocks, or investing in other currency. Taxable income. The US Tax system is a pay as you go system. Not a pay whenever you feel like it operation.
I would go to the IRS website and look under the heading Where's My Refund. Along with the status of this year's refund, it will lalso give the phone numbers to call for refund info via the automated help line.
Yes, however you may need an appointment. Go there and the man at the front desk is very helpful.
You can call their number and appointments are made through calls only
Your question is not specific enough to understand what you are referring to.
Yes, with payment in full with secured funds only (cashier's check or postal money orders) come earlyier in the day as there is acutoff time for these requests in the mid afternoon. Also, without an appointment you will likely have a significant wait.
The short answer is about 4 months processing time for a paper return currently. During normal times paper processing is 6-8 weeks which you are just about there. For future consideration, e-file returns usually only take 2-3 weeks.
If you want an answer, call the IRS and they can answer.
