Beautiful as always . Been going there for years , it's always clean and plenty of privacy between camps . The only problem I've ever had was this past 4th of July , was at lot 13 . There was 2 yellow jacket nest next to us , and they where just to much to deal with . Every other time it's been awesome place . Bring wood and charcoal .

Badin Lake Campground was a great place to stay for our trip to Uwharrie. We stayed on the upper loop of the campground and were overall very pleased with the experience. There were not a lot of bugs (which is great considering it was the middle of June), the restrooms were relatively clean and the showers had hot water. The only complaints we had were that there was no electricity and the campsites were closer to one another than we thought. Don't go by campsite layout from the website, it is not to scale. As long as you are not expecting a glamorous experience (and you bring your own hand soap) you will have a ball. Next time we will bring a canoe and explore more of the water access the campground offers.

Great place for during the week. I heard it was crowded on the weekends. Beautiful sunset views from the campsites along the waterfront

Running water bathrooms, showers. Hiking trails. Lake front if on the outside of the loop. Level ground big enough for one large tent or two small ones. Long parking area for one RV, one truck and trailer, or two cars for each campsite. Picnic table, fire pit with grill, separate grill for charcoal. Running drinking water in the loop to share. No cell phone reception, though. My wife and I plan to come back. Cool, but not too cold in December.

Yeah, you can pay online. It's pretty cheap, like 20 bucks a night. Spot 11 and 13 on the lower loop are the best spots. Perfect sunset views
If they do, I haven't seen it. Beautiful place though- worth a visit.

No gates but if you don't have a reservation don't expect many sites to be available
