Do not move here. If I could leave less than a one I would. They sent us to collections even though we paid them in full when we moved out. They have acknowledged their error but have yet to fix it and now I have a collections account on my credit. I am disgusted. They call themselves luxury but the service, apartment condition and interaction with the office is less than stellar. We plan to file a civil suit. This is unacceptable.

This really only applies to the apartments above the shops, as I haven't lived in the standalone apartment buildings. I have enjoyed my time living here but I would not recommend it to anyone. Our apartment seemed good at first but upon further inspection and living in it, we noticed just how little Main Street Square does to maintain them. 50% of the electrical outlets are so worn down and weak that cords just fall out of them, and a lot of the outlets won't let you plug anything into them at all. When we moved in, we noticed the apartment was "cleaned" but only to the bare minimum. There was grime all along the baseboards and appliances that you wouldn't notice until you either grab it or begin cleaning. There is paint splatter all over the floors, and I'm pretty sure we found urine on the walls when looking for stains with a black light. The AC unit that is built into a closet needs serious work. The fins on the condenser are so mangled and destroyed that almost no air can get through them. The condenser will freeze into a solid block of ice if it's particularly humid that day, and you won't know it's frozen until it's already 10 degrees warmer than it should be. During the summer I'm lucky to get the apartment below 75 degrees at night. Every time we maintenance came to look at it we're told "oh is a problem with the unit on the roof", but then when they say it's "fixed" nothing's changed. If you live on the second story facing the square, be prepared to have a supernova exploding outside your window every night, because the streetlights are RIGHT. THERE. They literally are the same height as the windows and are ridiculously bright. What's worse is they stay on all night. Edit as of 4/2/2021: Well the A/C stopped working...again. This time it was tripping the circuit breaker for whatever reason. We submitted another service request which was handled so now it doesn’t trip the breaker...but it still freezes over. Every time this happens, usually at night, it costs me money in electricity, because the A/C unit runs constantly trying to get to whatever temp we set and it can’t. We were told that the apartments are professionally cleaned, but either that’s a lie or they need to hire better people because yikes. This place was straight up gross when we got here. I understand that the square lights are maintained by Duke Progress, so there’s no option to control them for night time. I still want everyone to be aware that they are there.

I have lived at Main Street Square Apartments for 3 and a half years now, and have absolutely loved living here. While my husband and I will be leaving next month to move into a house we are building, we are sad to see this place go! It has everything you need right here in the complex all within walking distance (coffee shop, bar, gift shop, boutique, nail salon, dog groomer, dentist, doctor, and more). We love going to the pool in season and have met so many great people and friends here. We also love how dog friendly this place is! The current management and maintenance team is awesome, and maintenance issues are always quickly addressed once we put in a request. We will miss it here, and highly recommend to anyone moving to the area!

Although I will not be renewing my lease in the fall, I have enjoyed living at this community. My one bedroom, one bathroom apartment perfectly suited my needs. The application process was quick and easy, and the apartment was clean upon move in. My home is in a shady location and faces a wooded area, allowing for quiet and privacy. There is ample parking space in front of my building (Turnhaven Drive). I have never had issues with neighbors, and have always felt safe (while I was out of town at one point, a package was delivered to my door and was there for several days, it was still there when I returned). Office staff are always friendly and helpful - their kindness is one of the best parts about living here. In my experience, maintenance has always been quick and satisfactory, occurring within 48 hours of the request. Main Street Square apartments are in a great location - not only is the community located within an area with small and boutique shops, but it is also close to downtown Holly Springs and nearby shopping centers and restaurants. Additionally, there is a wooded trail nearby that will take you to Bass Lake, with workout equipment along the way! The amenities are great; I took advantage of the gym, the pool, and the coffee bar often. Due to COVID19, the gym and the coffee bar are closed, but I don't mind given the current circumstances. I find it highly responsible of the staff to put the safety of their residents first. The pool is currently open with social distancing taken into account. Thank you for a great year!
