Jewels is a blessing to this community. They always welcome you with open arms and a smile. A place to kick back, relax and get out of the weather. They serve breakfast and lunch and you'll never leave hungry. They also have a clothing closet for men and women, and they always do their best to find stuff that fits properly. I am very grateful for this Diamond in the rough, and appreciate all of the volunteers that keep this place going!!! God bless Jewels!!!

*PLEASE DON'T REPLY TO THIS POST!! Although I understand how hard it must be to come up with meals for all those people every night, as a common sense sort of person, I have to wonder when the staff running these shelters will finally realize that not everyone can eat just anything that's put in front of them? Anywhere food is being served, the full list of it's ingredients should be available to those with food allergies! Common sense right?? Printed menus also need to be provided in advance of each meal, so enough time's given to the staff for alternatives to be provided for those who can't eat something from the original menu. Elderly people often have special dietary needs which aren't being addressed by shelter staff members either! As it is now, you either eat whatever they put in front of you or you go hungry. THAT'S JUST NOT ACCEPTABLE!!

Jewels Helping Hands had the Cannon Street Shelter, use of the Women's Club, a facility in the Garland District and have now moved near the Gonzaga/Sprague District. When I asked why they keep relocating and what happened to all the donations they had at their numerous locations, I received no response to-date. When I tried to post why I would not recommend them my post was deleted. In my opinion something seems terribly wrong about not giving full disclosure to the public. I am a online reviewer who uses a variety of platforms and also an ABA Accredited Paralegal.

Love and compassion are given are freely through Jewel's Helping Hands. I was blessed to be her next door neighbor, to learn about their mission and their care for people, and in turn I've learned to be more caring and compassionate towards those that are in a position not often placed by themselves, but by many unavoidable and often heartbreaking circumstances. I love Julie and her team. I wish there were more Julie's in this world!

What do you need to keep your Baby....??
The staff at Jewels Helping Hands have always been super accommodating and do the best to provide for any need anyone has. This place is a blessing to those who need the help. If someone gets asked to leave, it's usually for a good reason and only for a short amount of time. (Like a day, three days, a week etc.)
