Be careful you chose the correct trail! I intended to hike the White Rock FALLS Trail but accidentally walked the White Rock GAP Trail. One leads you to a nice waterfall. The other... to a stagnant lake. We arrived at the trailhead parking lot, took a brief look at the sign and did not notice that - late in the text - were the words "the falls trailhead is across the road". You can't even tell there's a trail there! But the gap trail is RIGHT in front of the car. Could have better signage to make it clear.

A few steep sections that were a little difficult for our four y/o to navigate but he thoroughly enjoyed playing in the water at the falls and looking out from some of the rocky outcrops, that had several timber rattlers and a copperhead, which fascinated him since we love even the “scary” creatures. The waterfall itself isn’t very noteworthy, but the experience of the trail itself is great.

This place was pretty beautiful. The trail was somewhat primitive and very narrow, not maintained as far as..... the branches were growing over the trail. If you get poison ivy easily you probably don't want to hike this trail. The falls have several natural pools to swim in. Crystal clear water. We went here in July and the water was freezing cold. Pets are allowed here and there were about 25 different dogs on the trail. Dog poop everywhere. Personally I think that there should be signs saying that people must clean up after their pets. Overall it was a beautiful hike, beautiful views of the mountains.

This is one of our family’s favorite day hikes. We’ve done it in every season & it’s always wonderful! It’s short, but the switchbacks near the end are fun and challenging for everyone. The waterfalls are beautiful, and in the summer we like to wade in and cool off after our hike!

Not for a toy, but hounds, retrievers, and such would have no trouble. I took my whippet with me. I suppose done dogs fit in people's handbags. So if you can carry it... Thinking about it, you get the dual benefit of companionship and emergency food ration if you get into trouble.
The closer set is maybe 1/2 mile, and the lower set is probably about a mile. The lower section is a little more aggressive in elevation.
Not really a good place for that. Plan your hike such that you pass by the falls on the way to your camping location.
Depends which path you take, but you can spend about 1 hour enjoying it easily.
