Wish we could have seen it but it’s $24.95 per person! I just couldn’t bring myself to fork over that kind of cash to walk across a bridge. Even Zion National Park doesn’t cost that much! Lower the price, it’s ridiculous! ADDING TO EAT MY WORDS. We bit the bullet and got tickets the next day and loved it! They really should advertise that it’s not just a bridge, but tons of hiking, overlooks, scenic drives, a wildlife preserve with educational speeches, picnic areas, gift shops. We spent about 3 hours there and had a great time. I still think $24 per person is steep, but we had a great time regardless.

the park was 24$ per person. but the views are definitely the best around. if you go to the swinging bridge I highly recommend walking the 0.4 path up to the visitor center if you're able. its a little steep and the path is uneven. but enjoyable if you're capable. otherwise drive in up to the upper parking. visitor center has an elevator up to the bridge. SPECTACULAR VIEWS!

Amazing experience. Hikes for experienced climbers. Animal exhibits, fudge shop. Stairs or elevator from gift shop to bridge. Rocky climb on other side of the bridge. Will make you uneasy if afraid of heights. Well worth the efforts. Beautiful views. Not tacky tourist trap.

This was the highlight of our trip, the bridge as well as grandfather mountain. This is worth the trip and the small amount of money it is. We spent quite a bit of time here enjoying the scenery. Even though I’ve went I would enjoy going again. We went in February, I would enjoy going in fall just to see the color change as well.

Questions & Answers

Are dogs allowed?

Ozzy Hernandez | Jul 3, 2019
Mile High Swinging Bridge (Owner) | Jul 4, 2019

Dogs are very much allowed on Grandfather Mountain. We only ask that they're well-behaved and kept on a leash. However, they're not allowed in our buildings or wildlife habitats area. Be sure to let the folks at our Entrance Gate know your furry friend is with you, and they'll give him/her a treat or two.

I'm 99.9 percent sure they're open; I believe only closed days are Christmas and New year's day.... call to be sure. Weather could also/does affect closings.

The best thing to do is check the website https://grandfather.com/. Also last I saw you have to make a reservation to enter the park.

Looking to walk mile high bridge, but have 5,4, 2 year old. What would you say about that?

No worries at all! The bridge is constructed and reenforced with aluminum and galvanized steel. It doesn't swing like it used to, but rather sways gently.

Am I able to order online at the gift shop
