Fun hike with the family!! I’m out of shape and I made it to the very top. The kids complained a little but when we got to the top it was a sense of pride everyone had!! Beautiful view and plenty of places to sit and relax. Total time on the mountain was 2 hours up and down. This hike is free and a lot better views than grandfather mountain… more personal instead of a tourist attraction.

Not a bad hike to get to the bridge, so it is doable for those with bad knees or children. It's a beautiful sight to see once you get to it. Google maps will take you elsewhere, but make sure you zoom into the map and drop your pin on the trail instead. There is parking where that trail begins, which will take you to the Rough Ridge Lookout!

The hike didn't take long. There were some tougher spots where it was steep and/or rocky but it wasn't bad for any level hiker I'd assume. There were three rock levels we stopped at along the way for photos. Some of the route is boardwalk.

Great! It’s like the poor man’s grandfather mountain. Free parking, no bathrooms, great hiking trails. The trail can be muddy because of small stream nearby, please wear old shoes. There is steps, slippery path. But the views are amazing!! I went there October 10 Sunday afternoon. I recommend going in the afternoon because of the sunset, beautiful photos. Great photos! It’s a warm fall this year, so the the leaves are starting to peak on higher peak. Great views of the mountains.
