Place has a nature trail that goes up to the saddle of the mountain. Another trail goes to pictographs. The pictographs are awesome. Lots of Wildlife in the area. Saw deer, turkey, Quail, rabbits, and tons of different birds of many variety

Good birding relaxing setting. Nothing special you couldn’t get further up the mountains... if $5 to pay for feeders (and wifi in a no-service area) is too much for you.

This was our 1st trip to Portal, Arizona. Our stay at cave creek ranch was amazing and relaxing! We encountered so many wild animals on the ranch from multiple skunks, deer, so many birds, and the coatimundi was very entertaining! The owner Reed is super friendly and knowledgeable. The apartments as they call them are clean and updated! The apartments are fully equipped all you need to do is bring your own food. We will definitely be returning and I would recommend anyone who enjoys the outdoors to go there!

Beautiful setting. Loved sitting on the porch of the office and watching the wildlife come to feed. We stayed in the canyon view cabin which is actually not part of the main cluster of cabins but we enjoyed a spectacular view of the canyon and grilling on the porch with the electric Weber grill.
