Richard is an extremely knowledgeable Attorney in dealing with my very difficult, sensitive issues. I've recently been diagnosed with dementia (I'm only 59 yr.). Richard's proactive long-term care planning has put me in a position to protect my assets and qualify for Medi-Cal should I require nursing home care. Richard's counsel has helped me with difficult family dynamics that but for his intervention, would have been tough to overcome. He was professional in his approach to my concerns and completely thorough in every aspect of my estate plan & trust documents. The final presentation (the portfolio binder) is unmatched in so far as organization is concerned. I trust Richard in every way and for all dealings in the future regarding my needs. Richard made the entire process very easy. He has a very caring nature and takes the time to understand his clients and ensures that their values are carried through in the documents. I will recommend him to all my friends and family.

There are not many times that i can say i had a 100% 5 star experience dealing with professional advisors, legal counsel, etc. in the course of my business and personal needs and glad to say i just did with Richard! My family can now feel much more comfortable that we have a solid estate plan in place that was custom created by Richard and his team. Its one thing to create a plan and another to explain in such detail as he did for us, not leaving any question or concern unanswered. Thank you so much Richard for all your hard work and dedication for all that you do. David Parker and family

When I found Richard I was looking for a few specific things in an estate lawyer: 1) Someone who specialized in estate planning. I didn't want a personal injury or divorce attorney who also did wills and trusts on the side. 2) Someone who my wife and I (and eventually our heirs) could contact in the future. I didn't want someone who would fill in the necessary papers for a fixed fee, then never talk to us again. 3) Someone with the background and years of experience to guide me in my personal estate choices. I knew almost nothing about how to plan my estate and wanted someone I could trust to help me make the right decisions. Richard met all of these requirements in spades. His business is focused on estate planning and elderly care. He forms a personal relationship with you that begins with evaluating your specific needs, then doing the required forms and legal work to fulfill those needs and makes himself available for any future concerns, changes or, finally, helping your heirs navigate the estate process after your passing. His background and the years in this business make him exceptionally qualified for this work. My wife and I also found him easy to talk to, very likable and trustworthy. Highly recommended! Questions & Answers

What is Medi-Cal?

Medi-Cal is a combined Federal and California State program designed to help people pay the costs of long term nursing care for public assistance recipients and other low income persons. It's a needs based program and those who seek it must pass certain eligibility requirements. To qualify, you must demonstrate that you have limited resources available. That said, we are experts at getting people qualified for Medi-Cal and avoid spending down their entire estate that took a lifetime to build.

Are there any other documents I might need in addition to what is provided in the Foundational Estate Plan?

Yes. What if the beneficiary does not manage money well or can be taken advantage of easily? Or if your beneficiary is a physician or other line of work that is vulnerable to lawsuits? We offer the Personal Asset Trust as a solution. It provides permanent asset protection for your loved one's inheritance making those assets safe from the reach of creditors, judgments, and divorcing spouses. Someone you trust can be the trustee (manager) of your loved one's trust if they don't manage money well.

What is included in a typical estate plan?

Actually, there is no typical estate plan. Every family presents unique issues to deal with. That said, we offer what we call the Foundational Estate Plan which includes: Revocable Living Trust; Pourover Will; Durable Power of Attorney; Advance Health Care Directive\Living Will\HIPAA Release; and Property Agreement
