The manager, Michelle and Oscar, the leasing agent are very professional and knowledgeable providing awesome customer service at their community! The property is nice and very clean, with great rates and conveniently located! They are truly a blessing! Judy Ann at Valley King Properties

Had a great experience moving in with the help of Michelle and office staff. Very friendly and professional. Often times one of the most important features of a place you call home is that the people who take care of your home truly care for your well being. I feel that El Cortez apartments truly cares and I appreciate that.

06/07/22 They turned off ALL electricity in the entire complex for OVER 12 hours. They left letters on the doors that it would be off from 5am - 4pm. 4 hours later all electricity is STILL off. In 105 DEGREE weather, no lights , no ac , no warm water , not able to charge phones , use microwave , food in the freezer and fridge went warm because electricity was off for OVER 12 hours. People at the complex have no idea what to do, who to contact for help. We were left in the dark, currently still have no idea when we are going to have electricity again. There is nobody we can call to give us an update either. I have called Avant Garde ( Supposedly " management " ) 4 times so I can get an update because they never return my call, every time I call , another hour goes by with no update. Currently apartment is dark with no electricity. And still no update.

I am basing this review based on my experience at the Cortez Apartments and the office management team. I unfortunately had to vacate my new apartment here because of extremely disruptive upstairs neighbors. I have lived in several apartment communities in the past and never experienced such disruptive neighbors as I did during my short time there. I am talking about power tools being used at early hours of the morning, nonstop banging, and what sounded like construction noises at all hours of the night (and day). Even water was dumped from their balcony into mine. For my own mental health and lack of peace (and sleep) I had to leave. Despite ending my time at the Cortez due to bad neighbors, I wanted to applaud the front office team, especially Michelle, for taking the issue seriously. From the moment I advised her of the disruption she took ownership of the problem and did everything possible to help me feel safe and at peace in my new home. She was always professional, empathized with me and gave me every option to alleviate the situation. She addressed the issue herself, continued to check in on me and even provided me with the property security information if the disruption continued outside of office hours. Unfortunately, I could not stay due to my anxiety but I really felt like she did everything she could for me. Michelle needs a promotion or raise because unfortunately she will have to continue to deal with the residents above my apartment. It was definitely a “one bad egg ruined it for everyone” situation. I am giving the property five stars based on the great service and care I was given, especially from Michelle. I understand it was not the office or property management's fault, however I just hope the future resident of my apartment doesn't have to go through what I did. If you plan on living here, rest assured that the office team is there for you.

They let anyone live here. Plus the doors get propped open, so anyone can just walk in.
