SSI benefits are a lie. Don't even bother. I applied 3 times. They make it more difficult every application. Lostallhope .com

I applied for a social security number 5 weeks before my visa expiration and check my mail box everyday. After two weeks, I called them and they told me just to wait. I waited until my visa expired and call them again, they told me to go to SSA again. When I got there, they told me my visa is expired and I can’t get an SSN until my green card is made. I think these guys are irresponsible and good at making troubles. We have many issues about tax and DL without SSN and we have to spend much more money and time to fix them. I really regret to choose this SSA !

This place is ridiculous. I've been trying to speak with someone for months and every time I call I get put on hold for almost 30 minutes (which I understand they're busy) but when they do answer THEY HANG UP ON ME. Before I even get the chance to speak or after only saying a few words. I've managed to talk to someone, and not get hung up on, twice. That's it out of dozens and dozens of times that I've called. I always make sure to be incredibly polite to these people so they're not hanging up on me for being rude or anything they just evidently don't want to deal with people. It's so frustrating.

make appointment: what menu?
Call them on the phone. Or just go in on a Friday afternoon. Your wait will only be about 15 minutes!
Nope. Afternoons are better, mostly, than mornings. Except Wednesday, they're not open past 12 noon on Wed.
You need a court order typically to get your name changed, but once you get that, yes, you make an appt and they will get you a social security card with your new name!
If u want to go u could go but if want to do a appointment is fine too
Yes you can. Best way to initiate a process will be online.
YES
Yes you can
Sure. After making the appointment, you'll receive a phone call one day before your appointment for a reminder.
You apply there, then 3 to 4 weeks later, you'll get your new card in the mail.
Yes. They will set up in-person or phone appointments. You may want to try walking in. I have done that a couple of times. It's a small, out of the way office and the wait is never very long.
You need to call the credit bureaus and request a copy of your child's credit report. Once you receive it, review it and call the credit bureaus again in the event you find anything that doesn't belong to your child. You can also request to freeze his account so noone else would have access to it. (File a police report also before calling the credit bureau). I hope it helps.
I believe you can make an appointment at any social security office.
There is not a long line. I went there like 20 minutes ago and took me 15 minutes get my card
You have to go there on your own and they will make it for you
I went there today and they said appointment is no longer needed.
No. You have to wait if there are more than 5 people in the office.
Depends on how you changed it. If you got married, you need the copy of your marriage certificate, and a passport or other official form of ID, and the SSA form. Everything you need to bring in is listed on their website
You can go online to their website. There is a lot of information on there
No you have to call them for questions. After you call, if they deem it an "emergency" issue you could get an appointment.
You've done the most that you can do. Now it's a waiting game. Give them about two weeks for a answer.
No, you need to set up an appointment. You can set one up over the phone
Yes. They are currently closed except by appointment; on line and telephone access is available.
No, you need to make an appointment over the phone first
Ask for Ellie from the Fountain Valley office in Orange County California
Yes, here is the number in Fountain Valley...877-304-1566
Yes... Only Anaheim, Garden Grove, Santa Ana are open with appointment
You need a divorce decree or court order name change doc, and then you just fill out the social security card request form (if you can't find it online they keep them on the door of the building) you will also need an ID with a photo
You have to print out a replacement form from their site, fill it out, make s copy of two forms of ID and either mail it to them or drop at the closest office. They are not there but check for mail daily. It will take a few weeks before you get it in the mail.
Call 877-304-1566 That is the Fountain Valley Social Security Administration phone number posted on the door outside.
Yes, only a telephone appointment
You first need a court order name change, but once you get that you can come here to get it changed on your social security card
I don't work there but I believe this ones closed due to covid
I called them last week and they said paperwork can be dropped off in between the crack of the doors during operating hours.
You HAVE to make an appointment. No walk in's allowed.
Yes they are very helpful here just call and they will answer any questions you have. And unlike the EDD office where it takes 15 days to get to somebody. They answer the phone here very quickly.
I just did my enrollment on line, very easy.
I think so
The Fountain Valley office is closed until further notice. You can call or go online. Sorry, I know this wasn't much help.
Yes, you can call to make sure
Yes on the website
Gather the appropriate documents( this information can be found on the website) then either walk in or, make an appointment.
Yes recommended on line
You can order one on the website and it will come in the mail they don't give you Replacements at the office
Not on Wednesday. It is 9 to 4 on M, T, TH, and F.
No, you have to go stand in line, takes 30 min or less to get in the door and assigned a number, and about 15 min for you number to be called. This is normal day, a good day is much faster.
On line at https://foodstamps.org/application. To apply.
You can do it on line also at socail security. gov
No, you can order one on line because they are sent in the mail only.
Online
You could bring your passport showing your new name
Yes, you will get a new SS card with same number. You do not need an Appointment. Just show up at the office.
Yes just call or go on line
Its explained on the website.
Yes
Yes you can make an appt, in fact that's the only way to talk to a specific person since they do not answer their phones. But if it's your first time going there, you probably can't get an appt.
No racks but could use chains
On line
You get them by mail. Apply on line.
Not sure online is possible to do online as they check ID at the physical location so dont get frustrated if you can't do it online. Besides, the time to complete is about 45 to 60 minutes tops. This office is very efficient.
Contact the office.
At the train station in Santa Ana off of Grand and santa Ana blvd
That or your drivers license will suffice, but the passport is federally issued so I would take that.
Go to www.irs.gov/FormW4V, print and fill out form W-4V, bring or send completed form to your local SSA office
On line or call local office
I believe that they have to check your identity and more before anything. Appt should help.
You can re apply SSI anytime if total your income is less than $941 and your property is less than $2000.
You should go to Social Security office in Newhope and Warner to get help to change it.
Two options. A.) Go to the office with ID and fill out the form to request a replacement and they will mail it or B.) Sign up for a my Social Security account online at www.ssa.gov and you can request one to be mailed to you thru the website. I would suggest the latter as the walk-in wait times are horrendous.
On line
Yes
I don't think you can get a replacement social without an ID. Get a replacement ID first, then get a new Social Security card.
Please check their website or if you have time just call them.
Please call them
You need to call ahead of time or just walk in and wait for perhaps a couple ok f hours.
Go to Social Security with proof of B-day , 2 forms of I.D., and a utility bill with your name on it. Have fun. If you go there early in the A.M. you will not have to wait long to see an attendant.
I don't know that, but the 800 number for SSA did to never hold for more than 15 min at your local SSA location, because after that, your call gets automatically transferred to the 800 number. It's better to go in person, not on a Monday, and in the early afternoon, if it is open then (mine closes at noon every Wed). Then there's not such a crush of people and you are helped very soon. Remember you can't have food or drink, except water, and nothing sharp, like at the airport. No scissors, etc. They go thru your bags.
I do not know for sure (forgive me mistakes in Spanish, I am only a student) but you must bring your ID or driver's license AND your marriage certificate or another form that says the new name (an official paper from the school or bank account or account statement from electricity company.) You can call them but it will take a lot of time! :)
Go to www.ssa.gov and see if they take appointments. Or, you can call your local field office and ask them. Otherwise, as previously stated, just go to the field office, sign in, get your number and sit down and wait.
I ordered mine online and it came fairly quickly. Much better than going to the field office and waiting at least an hour for assistance, which I know first hand, since I am there often due to issues with my disability.
State ID or Driver's License; and something that shows your residence status, like a gas or electric company bill with your name and address on it. If you have never had a social Security card before, i think you need to show your birth certificate.
Bring a couple of picture id's, fill out the paperwork, and they'll mail it to you.
I don't know. I think you need to show up and wait your turn.
Didn't know you could have 2 numbers
Yep
2 forms of i.d. Birth certificate, drivers license, passport, utility bill....
They take either.
Not sure, but it's always good to have access to your account online. Registration is simple...
If you're court appointed, of course.
Appointment for?
Easier to register on line with social security. But yes, they can provide your transcript and all other documentation.
It depends on what you need? If u are coming in for a ss card replacement, legal name update, name or date of birth corrections, citizenship status update no appointment is needed.
You can begin getting Social Security retirement benefits as early as age 62. But we will reduce your benefits by as much as 30 percent below what you would get if you waited to retire until your full retirement age. If you wait until your full retirement age (66 for most people), you will get your full benefit. You also can wait until age 70 to start your benefits. Then, we will increase your benefit because you earned “delayed retirement credits.”
It depends on what it is. Replacement social security cards, name changes, address update require no appointment. SSI benefits should be initiated online and wait for SSA response. I hope that helps.
Yes you can. Bring one original primary form of identity such as: US passport, DL, ID card. Keep in mind on wednesdays we open from 9am-12.
I think so
You'll need to go into an office and show documents such as a driver's license, state issued non-driver identification card, both certificate, or a U.S. passport to prove your identity.
Create a healthcare.gov account online and download it.
Absolutely! You can schedule it online. And the line moves very fast.
Look on their web site.
They do not have direct line that they give out.
They do not have one that they give out.
