Officer pulled me over because I was happily playing my music. Of course his reasoning was different than my own. He gave me tickets that will be dismissed. His attitude alongside the 3 other cops was hostile. Refusing to answer questions and ultimately purposely losing my DMV paperwork. The excuse for having a long traffic stop was due to officer training... Officers should understand that the public is their purpose and support. Attitude goes a long way. Being a officer means setting the tone. The tone set with me was hostile and by losing my paperwork, corrupt.

I live in Anaheim Hills but i spend about 3 nights a week in Hawthorne at my parents and I can honestly say that there is a stark difference between how the police departments respond to noise complaints in black neighborhoods versus white neighborhoods. If I call after 11pm to complain that somebody’s dog has been barking incessantly for the past hour in my white neighborhood, the police will send a car out to respond. HOWEVER same issue same time frame in the black neighborhood of Hawthorne, CA but instead the dispatcher tells me to contact city hall during regular business hours. So basically you’re telling me that only the people who live in white neighborhoods are covered under the covenant of quiet enjoyment. Only the people who live in white neighborhoods are shielded from any disturbing, excessive or offensive noise which causes discomfort or annoyance. And when a dog barks in a substantially continuous manner in the daytime or nighttime, it is only considered a nuisance IF in a WHITE NEIGHBORHOOD. Kinda like the difference between how the police handled insurrectionists at the Capitol versus the peaceful protectors at the BLM protest. #RacistIsAsRacistDoes

After I saw this footage I am literally appalled and disgusted. I cannot believe how this was handled. An innocent dog got killed in front of its owner for protecting him and doing what a dog does for their owner. As a pet owner and an animal lover, I am sick to my stomach that something like this can happen. How can a cop not have proper training in handling a non-violent situation? Not only could this have been an easy fix, the dog had a leash on, which would have been an easy way to control him. Now an innocent dog is dead and a guy is scarred because his best friend got shot by someone who is suppose to be protecting people. It should be a privilege protecting a community and being an officer, but now the country and world knows what happens when you give someone who is irresponsible a gun. It really is a shame. It makes me ashamed of this country. Your community has a very negative light on it, and justice should be made in this incident to take a step and try and re-establish a positive reputation on your enforcement.
