This is where the orchid club meets. But it was the city council. Meeting was happening. Went today and watched the movie Everest. Based on the book Into thin air. 90 degrees outside but had to put on a light sweater. Good movie. Free popcorn maybe about 15 people. Nice way to spend the afternoon.

Bad Experience, and all we wanted was to inquire about the Senior Center and what it offered. We were met by the guard asking us what we were doing, my partner and I, replied that I wanted to check out the senior center. He immediately then said NO BAGS! We had exactly 2 shoulder bags, one of which was my purse and my partner's shoulder bag. I proceeded to ask him in wonderment; that I wasn't allowed in with my purse? He then asked again what was the reason to be here? I said that I wanted to inquire about the senior center and what they offered. He ordered us to remain outside and wait, while he found someone he came out with. An African American man on crutches came out and I repeated my purpose to him. He looked over at the guard next to him and then back at me and said follow me inside. So I did, he gave me The Chronicle, I asked a few questions, he handed me a business card for referral. Never introduced himself, never offered a membership, nor did I see one person scan their membership card. Seemed pretty hostile to me the way we were greeted, the whole environment. The only thing he mentioned was that there were classes here and basically this was what the senior center was all about, just classes. As I saw a lady in a room directly to my side sitting there watching TV. I don't know but the way I was treated smells of an exclusive club, as I am a senior and so is my partner according to the age requirement. I was not greeted with a friendly, inviting smile, nor offered a membership, or told I could stay. Is this what the new Costa Mesa takeover has done. WOW

Looking for a way to exercise, but not go to a gym, I signed up for the Hula classes. People came up to me with big Aloha hugs and welcomed me to the class. No group has ever been this welcoming & it has made a big difference in inspiring me to get to both the Monday & Wed. classes. After 5 weeks, I wouldn't want to miss this warm, patient & generous group of people.

Call into the front desk, what's available varies.
You should call the senior center directly or look up their monthly calendar. They have several options in addition to the exercise machines (uses body weight).
Or go there and look, or look up the building plan proposal online and look, or trust that since it's a city building that it's up to code, or call the front desk... It's a nice, new, modern facility.
Go to post office get a real passport good for 7 years world wide. Library only helps with Mexico passports. You need passport pictures either way. Passport costs are the same. Suggest you get a worldwide passport cost is the same. Go to department of states website Link . International Travel https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel.html
