Nice, quite place to fish and explore! Playground with zip line, river, and 3 lagoons to fish!!!

Friendly staff and camp hosts. Great hiking trails and lagoons for walking and fishing. Spacious sites. Close drive to Sedona and Old Town Cottonwood. First experience with javelinas. Bathrooms could use some updating but acceptable for a state park. Lots of fun!

We stayed in a cabin and though the mattresses are pretty uncomfortable, we loved how there were trails that come from the cabin loop down to the river. There is one that goes to a great stream, fun for kids to play. The other parts of the river looked dirty and isn't great for swimming. But we loved the trails, the horseback riding, the playground, etc. They said we couldn't hang hammocks on the trees and so we did on the cabin column and a nearby fence. We had a great time!

We are very happy we have found this state park. It's just a couple hours from Mesa, AZ and a great place to get away for the weekend or holiday. The park is in the thick of Cottonwoods and Mesquite trees with miles of hiking paths, mountain biking trails and equestrian staging areas and trails. We just returned from a three-day weekend with all the colors of fall in November. We also found a great trail that leads to the Tuzigoot Ancient Ruins. One of three ancient archeology sites in the area.

Water and electric at sites, but no sewer. There is a nice dump station though.
There is the lime kiln trail that can take you all the way Sedona. This trail has smooth areas, but there are parts that are double diamond. It's also 15 miles one way. In addition, there are various other trails at high skill levels. Be advised, these are not a starter level trails. I rode on several on a hard trail and my bike nor my skill set were equipped for sections. U

Yes. Right when you pull in or as you are leaving. The sites have electric and water but no sewer.
There is swimming in the river, well marked, no swimming in the lagoons.
Yes, you can kayak in the ponds. The last two out of the three ponds are the larger ones. Be sure to bring binoculars for bird watching since the area has a nice variety throughout the seasons.
