An AMC in the SF Bay Area with real IMAX, some friends of mine are obsessed with seeing Nolan & great films in IMAX, they make it a point to not go to other IMAX's in the area that advertise IMAX but aren't. But Dolby is my favorite format. This one is ease to commute than Bay Street, even though I'm coming from the East Bay because it's 5 blocks from the Montgomery subway station versus catching the free Emery-Go Round shuttles at the MacArthur station, if you miss one you'll wait 15-35 min, better than a 5 block walk which there isn't a wait time. This location is in the downtown, if you're early (which is better since you're seeing a movie) there's a lot to do or food to pick from. The Metreon building of which AMC Metreon is inside has 7 restaurants, vending machine that serves ramen and a milk tea place, Target inside too. Staff can be more engaging, but they do there job, large variety at concessions. On a budget, want to be supportive of the cinema, just buy a (regular) drink anything more and you'll may a bit more or twice your ticket. Bathroom, hallway, and auditorium are maintained. IMAX is massive, not my cup of tea, Dolby is where it's at. For the flash backs, they're always digital, the smaller rooms on the right once they scan or take your tickets. Still great. Highly recommend if you're in the SF Bay Area.

I saw the 2022 Dr Strange at third theater, picture and sound quality 5 stars. The only negative was that the seats weren’t the full recliner style, although they were plush and comfortable. The theater’s decor is also very pretty.

Everything is clean here. It was such a wonderful experience watching Batman in this IMAX Theater. The screen is huge and the seat is very comfortable. I am so envious of people living in San Francisco that they have such a great cinema.

The best IMAX theater in California. Featuring dual laser projection, movies like Dune, 007 No Time To Die, and Eternals will run in there full 1.43:1 aspect ratio. Worth every dollar of the $17-$23 ticket

Alot of movies. Like Justice League and more
The IMAX here is projected using 15/70mm film and 4K Dual Laser
The movie theater is on the 3rd floor. You can use the elevator, stairs, or escalator.
Depending on hours you stay, my wife was there for like 6hrs came out to 20 buck
No, but the Kabuki will
Depends on what kind of free movie pass you mean. AMC a-list works here, and you can get free passes from AMC that'll work here too. I used to use MoviePass here but I switched to AMC's A-list so I'm not sure if it still works
Go to the AMC Theater site and proceed like you are buying a normal movie ticket. Among the movies is the option "Private Theater Rentals" with times available. Select the time and it will give you a list of movies to choose from.
No
We are now on lockdown status and the theater is closed until SF goes back to red from purple
They seem to be opening day by day this week. A few hrs ago you couldnt reserve tickets for tmrw (Tues) but now you can.
Take your credit card with you. And they should be able to help you at the box office.
No usually,
Not sure about that, but they have prices cut in half every Tuesday. *If you are an AMC Stubs club member.
You shouldn't have any problem bringing any of those items, however if you are stopped simply speak to a manager at the customer service desk and you should be fine. They are very accommodating
Nope. No arcades
I think there is only a street parking (Not free) and might be limited
YOU can go to G, pg, pg-13, but not at the kabuki... You must be over 18 or with an adult because they serve alcohol 🍸
No that's a separate building and fee.
Not that I saw. At least for IMAX.
They scan ALL 10 at one time at the cash registrar & then they can have them on WILL CALL under the names of your guest with ID
The MAC METREON is nice inside with nice seating, but it's downtown much traffic no parking besides the parking lot, an it's hard for a disabled person to get to.
That is why we have multiple screening times. We appreciate your business.
It will when it comes out.
They accept paper AMC tickets sold at a discount at Costco. I just used one about a month ago.
The staff won't have any problems with singing along but the other patrons might.
I believe California state law requires employees to be 16. Some states allow you to get a work permit under 16 years old.
Yes
Bring it. Bring own cocktails and enjoy.
Online. It's an app, download it on your phone and go from there
Yes still playing. Check times online. May the Force Be with You.
Most Fandango cards are only taken online for the box office.
I would check the Web site for the most current info.
