Excellent choice for 55+ seniors! Resort living community with full amenities! If you can meet HOA qualifications, they have the best pricing homes in Orange county.

I like Laguna Woods because I live here and in 2005 it was the least expensive place to live in Orange County. The activities and resources for healthy living are too numerous to mention. The main drawback I see now is the aging sewer system and the restrictive attitude of the leadership and Village Management Services. Don't let that deter you from checking it out. We have adjusted and things do feel very comfortable. Like all things in life YOUR attitude will determine how your day goes! God bless!

We have lived here now for 3 years. This place was the cheapest in OC to purchase a ok place. It has changed for the worse during these 3 years. The board is doing all they can to make it difficult to sell your place. The administrative fee when you purchase a place went from $2.500 to $5.000. Laguna woods village is a very FEE HAPPY place. There is fees for pretty much EVERYTHING.......and yes the HOA FEE is $652 and will go up again this year. Like someone said they are trying to make this in to a 5 star resort - that will most likely not occur, but in the mean time they sure are trying. When we retire we will move, can NOT afford to reside here. It almost seems like there is more rentals than owners living here. Also lot of mean ladies living here, when you walk your dog they can very well come out from their 'cave' and be nasty. Chose carefully which gate you want to live in.

The transportation services used to be wonderful, however earlier this year the driving routes, timing for pickup and drop off, and amount of buses were changed. It now can take a whole day just to go to the grocery store and back home.

There are a few short walking trails with nature features, but the entire community is a safe and pleasant place to walk. The trees, birds, squirrels, and other wildlife are unique for a SoCal community, but the setting is residential. However, it is not a place that I would come to specifically to walk a trail.
Yes, If you need help you can go to the Towers, but the Towers is not Assisted living. They offer house keepun and you can hire outside help for Care Giving
