My only complaint with this wonderful amazing establishment. Just wish it was closer to San Francisco. After my first visit here, I went back in and paid for an associate membership. I try coming at least once a month, sometimes every other week. Do yourself a favor and spend money here, keep this place open for our kids and their kids.

came here with a family friend and really enjoyed my experience. The workers here took time to help adjust my weapons to better shoot them. They also Explained to me issues I had with my smith and Wesson and how to resolve them. Well worth the drive for me and will be coming back. Love the rules and how friendly everyone was.

Came here as a first-time shooter and felt SO welcome. Mike hooked me up with John who made sure I was loading and holding my Glock properly and he would circle back around at intervals to check-in on me and add a few more pointers. He instructed me so well that I managed to hit a bull's-eye by my 30th round! There were 2 other Range Officers whose names I didn't catch who took really great care of me too. Coming back again as soon as I can find myself some more 9mm ammo! Misc note: I came on Easter Sunday and it seemed to be at about 60-75% capacity

Not too many gun clubs open these days. Richmond offers a club house with fireside room, kitchen with large dining hall, amazing bar with cheap fresh draft beer and now the shooting part 200 yard rifle line, 50-100 yard rifle line. 25 yard pistol line. Action pistol courses, skeet trap and military / law enforcement training. Open to public.

, sure just bring it to the static line or call Vince sargentini you can get his phone number from the Richmond Rod and Gun Club site and ask him
For non members it's $20 each for 2 hours per shooter. You must bring your own firearms.
Richmond itself does not have basic classes i am aware of. Richmond hot shots (the competitive club that runs the action pistol portion of the range) usually hosts classes but they are geared towards competitive and tactical shooters. I would recommend going to your local gunstore to see if they can direct you to a credible basic safety course local to you. It would also be a good idea to have them check out your glock to ensure its in proper order if its been awhile. http://www.richmondhotshots.com
For non Gun club members, you must use the public range. It is open Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 AM to 4 PM. The cost as of 2021 was $20 for an hour. It may have gone up a bit for 2022. The public pistol range is just inside the property gate to the left near the chain link fence and Goodrick Ave. When the red range flag is up next to the Range office building, You must have eye and ear protection on all visitors and prospective shooters upon exiting your car by the range. Your handgun must be unloaded and in a locked transport case. Ammunition should be in a separate container. Leave them locked in your car until you have visited the range office, paid your range fees and have been issued a target with Range Lane assignment marked on the upper corner of the target.. The Range office will take and hold your drivers license while you shoot. Return your used target when done and don't forget to pick up your driver's license.
No rentals, so you have to know someone who owns firearms. For gun rental ranges you should check out indoor gun ranges.
Yes, but no steel core or steel jacekted bullets. Some peoplw confuse rhis will "steel case"... Steel case is great, but bo steel core or jacket.
Yes
Yes shotgun. Yes popular calibers available. $10/HR for non members
Hi Jack, The clubhouse is no longer holding lunch or offering meals at this time. We do not have a date when lunch/dining will be returning to the club.
Hi Colette, No proof of vaccination is required for shooters since we are an outdoor range and shooters are only in the office to sign in & make a quick transaction. We are following Contra Costa Health Guidelines and are only requiring Range Safety Officers that are indoors for the duration of their shift to continue to mask.
to do what?
Please bring your ID as well.
A route of trap or skeet is $10 plus the cost of ammunition which is $10 a box. The ammunition must be purchased from us due to special requirements of steel shot AND biodegradable wad.
You have to bring your own arms is $ 10 pot hour, minimum 2 hours ($ 20)
Both
Unless your a member it will be difficult to gain access to the action range without an invite by a member of the Richmond Rod and Gun club. The action range is not open to the public. To gain membership you need to be sponsored by a member. You can ask about practice days but practice days are mainly geared for action pistol shooters.....even then it would require you to take a class for action pistol. Unlike other ranges in other states, the rules on the action bays and access are pretty strict. I know Diablo Valley Rod and Gun in Concord has a shotgun day but they have unique rules for their action ranges due to their neighbors. Unfortunately 3 gun matches are dying in CA which also means the willingness to cater to shotgun shooters for action bays.

No they do not have firearm rentals. In Vacaville, and Dublin there is a store, Fishing, Guns and other stuff, they rent firearms in their indoor range.
No! This is America you don't need a license (2nd Amendment), but you do need to transport it unloaded and separately from the ammunition in a locked case.
We are open in the rain. If there is a torrential downpour we may halt operation until it subsides.
They are and all Tactical Shotguns are used in a designated area.
You have to know a member. I met a member and was given a chance to join. If you stop by at the range, introduce yourself to the Range Master and I'm sure he can help you.
