Pros: . Pretty mountainous lake area with good roads. . Electric hook-up sites were $14.00 and relatively level. These sites did not have water or sewer. . Not overly crowded. . Showers. . A couple of pretty nice trails through the canyon and out to the dam. Cons: . Best view sites of the lake and canyon do not have hook-ups but do have a fire ring and picnic table. . Only one flush toilet site open at front of campground. Remaining bathrooms were vault toilets. . Barely warm showers at front of campground on very short timer push button. Overall, I would recommend this place and would return. Four star rating is because of the showers.

Beautiful and very clean. Paid $24/night. Had a very quiet and secluded lot over looking the lake. We were there 2 days during the week and few others around. Very quiet and peaceful. There was a nice trail by the lake. Picnic table and fire ring was provided. Only a few miles off the I-40. Pads are level and cement. Lots of trees and shade. No hookups but a very clean outhouse type bathroom, showers and dumpster provided.

Beautiful! Rangers and Gate volunteers are helpful and friendly. Clean restrooms. Lots of trails. One caution though, if you go on the scenic view trail for the dam, be an experienced hiker! It starts out easy, but about 7/8 of the way, just before the end, the trail gets skinnier, more rugged and you start to climb at a steep angle. I had to turn around and go back.

Great place! Quiet. Not far off the highway, but with a feeling of seclusion. Only problem is when you reserve a space there's no way of knowing if the spot requires a lot of leveling of the RV. We did the best we could but we're slightly off the bubble. Water didn't drain too well from the sink and tub because of this. More campsite information would be helpful.

Yes. You can go to New Mexico state parks if you want to confirm. I saw it announced in the Albuquerque Journal last week.
Camping is wonderful. walking trails are nice and new showers. Very peaceful
We have Verizon and we had no trouble with reception. It is within range of cell towers near I-40.
You are in a fairly deep canyon. I don't have Verizon but my service is often spotty.
