The sites are tight. The only plus is proximity to town. The reason for the 1 star is tight sites and also mainly because we booked 2 sites together over 7 months ago. As a travel agent I know how things work and I did not expect us to be next to our parents when we arrived as it was quite full (even though we booked so far out)but when multiple units left and we asked to move next to them for the few days left (we are even leaving 3 nights earlier then what we paid for)that we will be here the owner was not very receptive to the suggestion even though exact same type of sites. I understand it is work to change a schedule but when you are a campground that does not assign sites even booked in advance it shows the lack of flexibility on their part for trying to make their customer happy. We are wedged in between two campers with one that their slide hangs over our picnic table which makes it unusable and wanted the bigger site next to our parents for some reprieve and to be able to be outside of our camper while here. I saw the owner again later in the day walking through the park assessing sites and tried to approach her on the matter nicely when I saw even more openings and she shut me right down not so friendly so this will be the last time we stay here. I have never had an issue before like this at any other campground and we travel quite frequently. Unfriendly or uncooperative hosts make me look elsewhere for myself and my clients. It is how you respond that makes the difference and she did not respond well at all.

Tent camped and a busy road runs through the RV park. We were awakened at 1:30 am by extremely loud bass techno music coming from a residential mobile home that was part of the campground. The music did not stop until 5:30 am. There is a residential trailer park attached to the campground. We had to leave and sleep in our car because it was so loud! The staff and owner were not sympathetic! If you want to camp where it is quiet, this is not for you!

Wonderful park. First time in Ouray and the park was right against the mountains. Beautiful views and perfect location. The bathrooms were clean and front office was friendly. Loved our stay and I’m sure we will be back!

We’re about to roll out after two nights at the 4J. I cannot accurately describe the beauty of this area. From our site we are surrounded by mountains, some still with snow in early June. It is absolutely worth staying here just for the views. The sites are very tight. Very tight. That being said, it’s manageable and a great way to meet your neighbors - shout out to Gary and Gayle! This picture is from the sun rising just between these two mountain peaks. It was stunning. Stay at the 4J. I wish we could get one more night here. And be sure to do the hike at Box Canyon. It’s tough but short and the payoff is 10 out of 10. Oh… and drive the Million Dollar Highway. You’ll white knuckle with a camper, so maybe drop it before you hit the road.

Yes but not allowed on city streets in Ouray . Silverton and Lake City allow OHVS on some streets
There are trails that come off the road, going south & north, but it's anyone's guess whether the Ouray police will ticke5 you for not driving a street legal vehicle on the road until you get to the Forest Road I'd say take a chance just be nice don't abuse
Goidsams lists last years rate as between $32-$38.
