So disappointed. We saved for this vacation for a year, our last vacation before our daughter gets married and moves out. We reserved the “family room” for our family of 5 which was $850+. I brought my complaints to Ryan, the “owner” but he was very flippant with me. The room needs to be updated. It looks like it is stuck in the 80s. The fan in the bathroom doesn’t work so it’s humid in the room and difficult to air out, the lighting is poor, the carpet is sticky and dirty. The breakfast is LITERALLY across the street. There was no coffee, no sugar syrup, no plates (just napkins), and NO response from the front desk. The worst and most disappointing part: they are remodeling the pool and front area so there are machines buzzing ALL day long, dust is flying because they are cutting rock, and when we checked in, black gravel spewed all over our car. Ryan said the construction was 8-5, but the machines started bright and early at 7:30. We booked this vacation to RELAX. We left tired and frustrated at their poor treatment of our family. It would have been NICE to be told about the construction. It changes everything. You can hear the machines in our room throughout the day, and the pool is not a place to relax. When I talked face to face with Ryan, he said he would issue no refunds, and the ONLY thing he could do for me is to check us out so we could move along!!! HORRIBLE!!

The construction is nowhere near done yet. When we called to check on the status of where they were at, we were very misled, as they said it was almost done. It was a huge disappointment when we showed up for our vacation and everything is very dismantled, there is debris everywhere, machines everywhere, etc. The workers are there 8-5, and that definitely doesn't make for a peaceful vacation. They had said it would be done by memorial day weekend, but they are forecasted to be done in July. It was just all very shady, and no one here told us the truth. Not only that, but when we asked for an accommodation because of the misinformation given, Vicky at the front desk basically said, "You prepaid, tough luck." She was zero help and had very poor customer service. At least offer a discount or a voucher for a free night later or something. It's going to be nice when it's all done, but it was a huge turn off that they were so dishonest. Won't stay here again for that reason, no matter how nice the place is, they don't care about their customers. I asked to speak with the GM Ryan and Vicky gave me his card, but I never got a call back after leaving a message. The only positive experience so far has been the massage I received from Tim. He was very kind and great at what he does.

Terrible place, it's a total construction mess. The check-in is in a rough gravel patch. The lobby is piled with junk and old greasy chairs. Room smells like moth balls. Very outdated and dangerous stairs to second floor. Shower floor is dangerous slippery. And we were not informed about the $100 charge for incidentals,,, which is reimbursement several days after the stay. Do not stay at this hotel mess.

Even with construction the staff is top notch and does their best to make your stay comfortable. The food service from the mineshaft is awesome and I've never had anything I didn't like. However, TIM IN THE SPA IS TOP NOTCH AND MADE MY ENTIRE VISIT. He altered my massage from what I ordered to what I needed day 1. Nice guy, great massage 11/10. Will return annually as I have in the past.
