I was looking for property ownership information and could not access it through either the records or the assessor's office.

I called the number listed on google for the SD County Tax Assessor's office. After waiting almost 16 mins, I was told I called the Wedding whatever office. She said I misread the number! She gave me the correct number. I called. Waited another 29 minutes. The woman answering told me she would have to connect me to the Assessor's office because I called the wrong number. Then she hung up on me. It's amazing how private businesses are able to keep on operating more-or-less efficiently, but our snowflake government workers have to be protected much more than the public. I am so angry and frustrated I have steam coming out of my ears. This is absolutely disgusting!

My wedding day is supposed to be special. It was until I got nervous and did not know the procedures and Sharon Guillent did not help at all either. I mistakenly input my middle name twice and now on our Certificate of Marriage it’s written on there. She did not inform me that I cannot change it or amend it (I tried) , but no I have to do a name change and pay hundreds of dollars which is too time consuming. I went back within the same week of marriage! What a shame! She didn’t even try. I’m happy I’m married but the experience was terrible and now that’s all I’m going to remember. DGGR just look at my initials 🤦🏽‍♀️

I have always found the staff to be exceedingly professional and helpful. The property tax appeal process in San Diego is conducted in a fair, transparent, and business like fashion.

Questions & Answers

Hi. I did not receive my tax bill for 2018-19. How do I request a duplicate copy?

Hi Jackie, Please go to sdttc.com and click "Pay Bill" to search for your bill using your address or parcel number.

How is my property assessed? I know the taxes can only increase a max of 2% per year but how about the assessed value? Could it be raised any amount required to service the bonds outlined in the proposed ballot measure to build houses for homeless?
