Fun place to visit. Produce stand free to visit and buy goods and there's a tour you can go on. Went on the U-pick tour in the afternoon to pick carrots and strawberries. Roughly one hour. The sweet corn was really tasty and refreshing. Next month is melons. There's always something in season to pick! I booked online and it looks like they may take walk up reservations if there's space. Plenty of parking. The grill and food stands are behind the produce stands and I believe you need to reserve a tour to be able to access that area. There are also animals to check out.

When you first arrived the welcoming is the best, especially at 10 in the morning. That’s when I knew everyone was going to be in very good spirits. It was my first time there with my grandson Hunter, who’s 2 years old, and to see him be as excited as he was, is a great blessing and a joyful memory.I’ll brag to friends to bring their kids as a family outing. We took the tractor 🚜 tour and got to pick carrots 🥕 and strawberries 🍓 and to be educated about the farm and the knowledge was amazing. Thank you all for your hard teamwork and keep smiling because your love shows you truly care. 🥰🥰🥰🙏🏼

HIKARI-2021 I purchased tickets for the tractor ride which included the Gingerbread Forest. I did not notice anyone checking for tractor tickets, we never had to show ours. The Gingerbread Forest is included with general admission and is mainly where the petting zoo is located and the large Christmas tree. The Tractor wagon ride was a little fast, and made it difficult to get photos. The tractor takes you half way through and you walk the rest of the way. Not difficult, but you are walking on a farm, there is uneven dirt walkways. The entire thing took about an hour. Live music, petting zoo, Santa, some food, no alcohol, farm market and fresh Christmas trees. Handicap parking.

Cool place if you've never been before. Suggest the tractor ride if you're interested in seeing different crops of vegetables and such, as most of these areas are off limits for pedestrians. Lots of things to do for the very young, plenty of food and snacks, thousands of pumpkins for sale at $1.29 per pound.

Yes, part of the tour we pick them ^-^
Tanakafarms.com. Thank you. No parking passes are needed on the weekdays.
Is there fruits at Tanaka Farms?
Good Afternoon! Tanaka Farms will be closing for the Season on Monday, December 16th. Our last day of operation for 2020 is Sunday, December 15. At this time of year, we do not have any fruit to pick! We primarily grow strawberries for picking in the Spring. While picking is not included in the $4 admission, we do have Strawberry Picking Tours, as well as a U-Pick garden.
PETS: Other than ADA-registered service dogs, pets are NOT permitted at Tanaka Farms. We wish that were not the case but food safety regulations, as well as our insurance policy, do not allow it.
There isn't a nursery, but the veggies there are very basic. Meaning, its not hard to grow your own. After going, we were inspired to grow carrots, corn, broccoli and cauliflower, greeen beans, tomatoes, cilantro and basil, amongst some. No they dont have everything I mentioned, but they do inspire you with the taste. Everything is delicious and fresh. My garden is booming now, my girls love tending to everything. So far the beans are really sweet, and the basil and cilantro are almost two feet and taste so fresh. Everything else will take a while longer -Gods timing. Try it. Blessings!
I want to say I didn't see any seeds for sale, but I could be wrong. There were some plants for sale though. Like tomatoes.
Yes my kids love it and there is a petting zoo too
The Hana Field Pumpkin Patch admission ($20) includes a pumpkin. The Tanaka Farms Pumpkin Patch admission ($6) does not include a pumpkin.
Hi yes we do. Please visit our website Tanakafarms.com for Upick activities. Please make a reservation as times do fill up. Thank you.
NOTICE ABOUT SOCIAL DISTANCING ON THE WAGONS: We limit the wagon rides to 16-20 per departure. We only sell a maximum of 16 spots per departure time, but we don't count children 2 and under as they generally sit on their parent's laps. Our tractors pull 2 wagons. So, it breaks down to 8-10 total per wagon. (Our normal capacity is 60-80 per departure, or 30-40 per wagon, so we have cut our capacity down by about 75%-80%.) Depending on how groups register, that is how we seat them on the wagons. For example, if we have a group of 10 family members register together, we will seat all 10 of them together in one wagon, as they all will come together. That means only 6 people will be seated in the other wagon. If smaller groups register, say 4 groups of 2, we would seat each group in a separate corner of the wagon to maintain distancing. Each wagon measures about 12 feet long and 8 feet wide. There are 4 rows of benches on each wagon. In "normal" times we can fit 8 to 10 people on each
Yes. If we have to cancel due to rain, you will receive the opportunity to reschedule or a full refund.
They don't charge for parking but it's $25 per person to go on the tracker ride (it includes a pumpkin but their pumpkins are just ok) The tracker stops and you see like 5-6 animals and that's it. Not sure if you have to pay if you just want to go to the little shop they have. Recommend Underwood Farms during the week it's $8 to get in and the pumpkins are way bigger and nicer. We got a pumpkin twice the size more then Tanaka for $16.
Hi we have two options Weekends is our Car Drive through tour the farm in your own car halfway through you can get out and pick a pumpkin in the pumpkin patch get back in see the barnyard animals and other exhibits. This is $20 per person ages two and under free and includes pumpkin and a couple goodies. Weekdays take a wagon ride around the farm stop by the barnyard, pick some veggies, go through the flower field and pick a pumpkin to take home. This is $25 per person ages 2 and under free. Please let me know if this is what information you wanted thank you!
Sorry we don't have respberries. During spring we have strawberries, hopefully in November we will have Blackberry picking. Right now we have our pumpkin patch.
We are in between crops right now, but should have more in October.
Other than ADA-registered service dogs, pets are NOT permitted at Tanaka Farms. We wish that were not the case but food safety regulations, as well as our insurance policy, do not allow it.
Irvine is located in Orange County, California. Just south of Los Angeles.
Our maze is geared towards families with little kids, so it is fairly small and simple. Still fun, but definitely not a huge and difficult maze you find at some farms.
Hi there! Corn picking is over for the 2019 season. Our Pumpkin Patch is opening next week on September 21. Summer corn season is usually July through early September.
We do grow Rainbow Swiss Chard, but it is not currently in season.
Yes, we do, but the season is almost over, so make sure to call ahead before driving out.
Hi Kathleen, Yes strawberry picking season is right now. We also do corn picking tours once in a while right now. Your best bet is our strawberry tour this week and this weekend. When it starts getting hot, the plants start shutting down.
Currently the farm has Strawberry Picking available in the Strawberry Garden behind the Produce Market Stand, as well as Strawberry Tours which include picking. Strawberry Season should last through June/early July. Please double check the website for dates and times.
Yes
We only have a petting zoo during our pumpkin patch in October. However, we do have a flock of Rescue Chickens and a few rescue bunnies that are available to visit with, and on the weekends, the Trabuco Canyon 4H Club brings goats to visit!
Hi we don't have yellow watermelon right now. In the summer time around July or August we should have them. Thank you.
So sorry! We only have pumpkins from late September through November.
Tanaka Farms practices Responsible Farming Techniques. Whenever possible, we will use all organic growing methods, which includes practices such as crop rotation, companion farming, and the use of compost and organic fertilizers in our soil. We also make use of OMRI (Organic Materials Research Institute) approved pesticides, which is permitted under most organic licenses. Whenever we add produce sourced from another farm to our CSA boxes, it will always be organic. You can read more about our Responsible Farming here: http://www.tanakafarms.com/responsible-methods/

Of course, we also have our acres of pumpkins and Market Stand available! Please note, Tanaka Farms will be closing at 3pm on Halloween Day.
Yes. You can show your pass and tickets on your phone.
It'll be much smoother if you have the printout. Last Sunday it was SUPER busy even before they checked the parking passes...guests may also purchase additional tickets at the entrance. Have fun!
Currently, the Sunflower Field is part of the Pumpkin Patch and included with the price of admission. The sunflowers will be ready for harvest in November.
I have been there a couple of times and no I haven't seen one. Neither heard of someone saying they did.
A small pumpkin is included with field trips and group reservations only. All others are 99 cents per pound.
No we don’t sorry.
There are snacks and everages available Monday thru Thursday at the Market stand. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday there is a full menu available at the Tanaka Grill.
The earlier the better! Opening day was Saturday, September 22. If you want the best selection, especially if you want to pick your pumpkin right off the vine, it's best to visit within the first two weeks.
The Corn Maze is currently growing. It is about 3 feet tall right now, but grows very quickly. The cost of walking through the corn maze is included in the Admission Price ($4) of the Pumpkin Patch. The Pumpkin Patch opens September 22 through October 31 from 9am to 6pm daily. Parking passes are required on weekends and can be purchased on the Tanaka Farms website. (www.tanakafarms.com)
To some extent, the farm is accessible to those with disabilities. They have designated parking spaces, and the Produce Market Stand, Tanaka Grill, and festival grounds are all accessible. When on tours, those in wheelchairs may find it difficult to fit their chair on the tractor. The tours are primarily seated, however, so everyone should be able to ride. If you are unable to leave your wheelchair, you may be able to ride in the wagon with your chair, if your chair is collapsible, though there are no ramps on the wagons, so it may not fit with a power chair. Unfortunately, in the fields, wheelchairs are unable to fit between the rows.
Hi! The fields are not open to the public. Tanaka Farms offers U-Pick tours where you can pick seasonal veggies (depending on crop availability, Free tour, just pay for what you pick), Strawberry Picking Tours ($18 - Spring), and Corn Picking Tours ($18 - Summer). During the Pumpkin Patch, there is a U-Pick Veggie Patch with a variety of veggies to pick for $2.99 per pound.
Approximately one hour for each tour
Our strawberry Tours will run until July depending on the weather and the strawberry crop. Thank you.
