My dog, Toby, loves to go to Camp Bow Wow. I like their app that allows me to see Toby by camera and watch him play with other dogs. He is always excited to go there.

My initial interview was great. They talked to me about my dogs and the staff was friendly. One of the best features is being able to check in on ur pup via cameras. But one of the indoor play areas which is usually used for the big dogs has a huge blind spot under the camera where dogs can go in and out of and where one of my dog conveniently chose to sit. I was excited to use their boarding services since the free interviews went so well. We boarded them for 3 days which cost us 300+ dollars for our 2 dogs. Our dogs seemed to have a good time and got to be fed together and slept together. However when I picked them up the counselor told me they were both picky eaters and didn't eat a lot. One of my dogs is picky so it wasn't a big deal. But my small one will eat anything. And when I picked them up the small one hacked a couple times. When we got home we started noticing more hacking and such from our little dog and determined that he contracted kennel cough. I let camp bow wow know. But my first experience paying for their services my dog caught kennel cough even though all the dogs including mine had to be vaccinated prior to attending. I wanted to point out that their staff is friendly and the dogs have a good time there. However I do feel that their prices are very expensive. Especially since the inside area for the dogs is just a concrete floor and one bridge. That is probably for sanitary reasons but there's almost nothing for the dogs to do except walk around and bark. It's kind of a 50/50 place. There are some drawbacks and some positives. I needed a place to board my dogs for a few days. This place did the job. I know kennel cough can still happen even with all the precautions taken. But I think next time I will shop around a bit instead of settling with the first option. Because now my dog is sick and my other dog will probably get sick too.

Millie Mae loves to attend Camp Bow Wow in El Cajon where she receives care, love and attention each day she is there. We also have her nails trimmed since she is so familiar with the staff. I appreciate the fact that Millie can "be a dog". Also, Christina and Amanda work the marketing end, as well as wearing other hats, bringing a creative outcome for the dogs on holidays; it's been pretty impressive so far. If I had to board my dog, this is a place where I feel good about doing that. You can bring your dog for the first 1/2 day free and that's a great way to watch your dog on camera and see what happens. Thank you staff for loving and caring for Millie Mae.

At Camp Bow Wow pickup is 7-10 and 4-7

Do you have to pay extra for the staff to pet your dog? I've watched the cams and it seems they're affectionate towards some dogs but give others the cold shoulder.
