Appears to be a great organization helping those in need! Great display/collection within our work area at Canton UPS (United Parcel Service). Rather than give individual food items directly in the collection box, I decided to sign up for a monthly sustaining monetary donation so that the organization can facilitate the distribution of food items more efficiently. Simply makes you feel good inside that you can help others in need. Those that are fortunate enough to have good jobs, should certainly give back to their communities IMHO. Thank you Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank volunteers and employees for taking care of those that need assistance in difficult times. Your work is much appreciated!!

My experience with this company to say the least was horrible! Instantly felt an ackward vibe by the lack of acknowledgement I got at the front desk. These people litterally called me for an interview, I show up to the interview and the interviewer named Audrey was out sick but no one called me to reschedule. I spoke with a guy who told me about the company and saying that they are a fair company, well the fairness came when they told me to expect a Background check and drug screen just to turn me away before I did either. I'm just sharing an experience and I believe this is why people don't give companies their energy because these people are dishonest and no forthcoming

Some of my co-workers and I went to the Food Bank to volunteer. There are so many great people involved in the Food Bank

I started volunteering here for school but at this point I come fairly often. The staff here is nice, we get so much work done in one set of a couple of hours, this food bank has one multiple awards for the best food bank in Ohio and I can't think of another place I rather volunteer at.

Hi Diane! I've gone up there through work a few times. Go to their website, they have a calendar of events and other info to register for helping. I've also heard they are trying to build one near Canton. https://www.akroncantonfoodbank.org
You should belong to an organization and sign up. You'll take a one day class; pass the rest and you'll get a certification.
I don't know for sure, I'm sorry. You may get better information from the food bank if you call them directly but I'll try to help... I do know that the AC food bank doesn't distribute food from their facility directly. They distribute to other locations such as churches, Salvation Army, shelters, neighborhood outreaches, etc. One of those locations may tell someone that if they live in another area they should go to a distribution location closer to their address. Technically, the food is for residents with income below a set guideline. Those are the only guidelines I'm aware of. I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
The food bank could always use more volunteers. Any help is appreciated. If you visit their website, you can register for an account and see general volunteer openings. Once you register for a visit, simply stop in and check in on one of their iPad-style terminals to begin helping! Each volunteer session has a coordinator that guides the group in activities.
Call 211 for a food pantry. A food bank is where they get the food to give out.
You can contact the food bank and they can refer you to a local food pantry
Please do not park in our visitor parking lot. There is a large incline at the entrance and you will get stuck (bottom out).
