If you send someone money and they owe child support, alimony, or the state in any way: DO NOT GO THROUGH JPAY. Go through SECURUS DEBIT. The state will garnish JPAY (what is advertised on the website) but SECURUS sends it directly to the inmate and they can use it immediately on their tablets.

I was arrested and within 5 minutes after being brought here I realized my constitutional rights were not wired into my driver license state ID. I noticed the staff were was mean and didnt really pay attention to what they were supposed to do. They complained in front of me how lazy their co workers were and how they do everything. My mom paid 25 dollars toward my phone use and her credit card was charged three hundred. I never used the phone nor was I given The bank card my boyfriend gave me to use back. When I was released the next day. My boyfriend and I went to get his bank card and the front desk said they don't have it try and call the arresting officer maybe he has it. The arresting officer was on vacation when we tried calling. I was arrested for a crime I didnt commit and was taken to this place that treated me with hostility and hate. I go to court and no charges are filed against me. There is no doubt corruption is going on and some innocent people will suffer through it.

I used to volunteer with Law Enforcement - and still volunteer with Emergency Management. I grew up and had always had pleasant (or at least polite) exchanges with LEOs in TX and CA prior to my experiences with Spokane County (including being pulled over). I visited a loved one who had the unfortunate experience of staying in this incredibly inhumane cesspool. During the course of my visits over 3 years, (yes, 3 YEARS PENDING trial), I travelled over 1600 miles each visit and would stay @~a week. This institution wouldn't be humane for a dog. My experience as a visitor: 1. Their JPay station being updated remotely - which made visible many security details (IP addresses, mask, Subnets, ports, etc) and made the front desk person, Courtney, aware of it - because that is laughable "security" at a jail and should not happen. She made a call and someone fixed the issue by removing screen visibility from their remote terminal session. I cannot speak to how many times this happened when I did not see it. 2. The bathroom was atrocious at every visit. A five-cat litter box would have been more sanitary. 3. I asked Courtney about extended visitation (1,600 miles is quite a trek for someone with Rheumatoid Arthritis/Firbromyalgia and lower back bulged disks, "military neck" and - after being denied for various questions - I asked for guidance on long distance visiting policies. I explained that I had researched on the website to ensure I followed procedure and rules - and asked which policies she was referring to since I had not found the policies she was referencing - after all, I want to follow the rules because safety and security are important. Courtney informed me that they were internal policies and when I asked for a copy of them so I could follow them, I was told they are not available to the public. I thought that was odd and somewhat UN-American since transparency in PUBLIC VISITATION policy would seem to be in everyone's best interest in such an environment to ensure visitors arrive and behave appropriately. Apparently, asking for clarification and guidance is not appropriate. She scowled at me repeatedly and looked completely incredulous that I should question anything. Okay, I thought, maybe she had a bad day. 4. When I escalated my request for extended visitation, as I assumed was the process since I was not provided any guidance, she scowled and called someone. A SGT arrived and I explained my situation. I explained that I certainly didn't want to interrupt anyone else's visitation with their loved ones and was not asking for special treatment - just extended visitation which is publicly listed as policy for visitors travelling over 400 miles or health considerations both of which I had (again: I travelled 1600 miles). Sgt flat out refused, regardless of policy and circumstances - stood within 1 foot of me with a puffed up chest and crossed arms - it seemed as if attempting intimidation. I took his name down and requested his superior, since that is military protocol and I was trying to follow proper protocol. This happened a couple of times until I spoke with McGrath. McGrath approved the extended visitation, as there was not a lockdown, no behavioral issues with the inmate, they had adequate personnel, and it would not affect another person's visitation....there was no given reason for previous denials. 5. The day before the last visit, I requested extended visitation and was informed by Courtney that it was denied and that if I didn't accept that answer I would be arrested. I asked her what charges would be brought forth - since I was not aware of breaking any laws. [ I had always been polite (even when the stress was enormous and tears flooded from my eyes about the entire situation)]. Frustrated, I left and returned the following day for the last visit. Extended visitation was approved for my last visit...I can only assume someone informed Courtney her arrest threat was unconstitutional as I had not broken any laws. I kept notes but was told IA in Spokane was most corrupt and would do no good.

This facility is absolutely draconian. Access to and communication with an inmate are difficult at best. Information relative to your family member's release is not available to you. Nor isn't available to the inmate. This is a standard written policy of the SCDC. Medical care is extremely poor if not completely lacking. We treat stray animals better than they treat the inmates.

If youre not all ready on the inmates visiting list. You have to go down to the jail. Show your ID. They will send a request to the inmate to put you on there. You can then Call the visiting line. You can push zero to speak to them. If they don't answer leave a message, they will call you back. Takes a couple days to get approved. GL

how do i order foof from commisary for inmate

Judy Zimmer | Aug 22, 2018
Eric Alger | Aug 22, 2018

They don't allow people to order food for inmates. You can only put money on their inmate account at the detention office next to the courthouse, where you go for visits. However if they owe money to child services or to the detention services 100% is taken off to pay that until it is all paid.
