This is a hidden gem if you are a photographer fan. They sell all kinds of cameras, tripod and lighting equipment. If you are old style, they even have camera films!

So thankful for the associate Paul, he did an amazing job with his guidance and recommendations! We entered the store not knowing which camera would work best for our needs, and he showed us a camera that was just what we were looking for and that also went with our budget 🙌🏽 He was very informative and knowledgeable. He was able to help us find a couple of accessories that we also needed and invited us to the photography classes that they will be having. Both service and in-store experience were immaculate. Highly recommend this store 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great place and I come here often, but some of the employees are a bit predatory when it comes to selling you things. For example, I was offered a lens filter to protect my lens from damage, and was told that it would be beneficial. However they neglected to mention that filters can cause image quality degradation. It is not something that you should always use, but they pretended like it was. This is not helping the customer but actually confusing them. The employees main job should be to provide the customers with guidance, not boost their sales numbers. As such, it is not the place to admit that you are new to photography because they will just try to get you to spend more unnecessarily. Please stop this practice and focus on helping the customer.

I have AF-S NIKKOR 28-70mm 1:2.8 D lens . It dropped and now hard to focus . Can you fix this lens ?
Charles, Your old lens will fit on your camera but you may have already realized that the autofocus does not work. That lens will not autofocus on your camera. The flash may not be as accurate when using that lens as well. There are a couple of other issues that may pop up but as long as you dont mind manual focusing, you can use that lens on your camera. Ask for Paul.
Masks, sanitation of surfaces, & protective barriers at counter areas.
Yes, they do sensor cleaning in house. They charge around $50.00.
We offer an out lab service which will convert regular audio cassettes to CD. For pricing, please give us a call during regular business hours. Thank you.

Only the brands they carry. A couple times a year a used camera company had a desk there and buys almost anything.

Hello Barbra, My name is Richard and I am the store manager here at San Jose Camera. Can you please give me a call, 408-374-1880, to discuss this. Thank you.
They do trade ins for sure, but you really have to be there to get the answer to this question..
We offer a print or scan service for 35mm and medium format slides. It is an out-lab service and takes 7-10 business days.
Hi Matias, At this time San Jose Camera is not doing business with Tamron. Instead Sigma is the go to brand do to the High Quality Line they are putting out.
I am sorry to say I do not know of any stores in our are that would have in-store inventory on that particular scanner. There are two places you can call that may have it but they are not near us. First would be Looking Glass Photo in Berkley. The other would be Samy's Camera in SF.
Looks like they answered you already
A sensor cleaning cost $50 and takes approximately 1 business day. Faster turnaround time may be possible depending on current workload. Thank you for considering San Jose Camera & Video.
Yes we do accept trade-ins. Bring your equipment in during normal business hours and one of our team members will evaluate your equipment.
Hi Tri, We would be glad to check your lens, it sounds like it may need to go to Tamron's Repair Facility, please bring your lens along with your sales receipts and warranty if available. Keep in mind Tamron has a six years manufacturers warranty on their products and the turn around time isnthe fastest in the industry. Best Regards. Alex Hernandez.
Hi Kimberly, I checked and we can send it out to GoPro to have an estimate made, this would provide cost for parts and labor for out of warranty repair, the estimate cost is only $30.00 and that includes Shipping and Handling as well. Have a great day.
Yes, Also Hoodman brand and Promaster as well.
