The room is clean and updated. Looks just like the pictures. The service is great as well. While I appreciate the complementary breakfast I didnt like how there were so many people hovering over the food in the breakfast nook. This location is great for tourists as it's a central location. As a local it's a little farther away from my home than I'd like but that's because I left some important items at home and now I have to make a longer drive to go get them. Gas is not cheap!

I stayed here for my one year anniversary. We had decided to visit San Diego to see the San Diego Zoo and SeaWorld. Both parks are just minutes away from this location. We enjoyed the free breakfast (especially the pancakes) to get us ready for our days walking. I had gotten the suite with the jetted tub and it was wonderful to enjoy it after a long day of walking. As with most places, this hotel was definitely understaffed, but the staff that was there were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are a little run down and could use some minor maintenance, but overall I had a very pleasant experience staying at the Holiday Inn Express, Mission Valley.

Our stay was great! The room was clean and comfortable (a few signs of wear, but overall very pleasant). Daniel (front desk) went above and beyond to ensure our visit went smoothly, even when we had a slight booking snafu. He quickly fixed things and was super chill and friendly while doing so. He always had a smile and a wonderful attitude. We really enjoyed the outdoor patio and loved the garage door design. Very cool and practical as well. Thanks!

Positive: Hotel and room was very clean. The staff was very kind. My kids had a great time at the pool and hot tub. The free breakfast was great (which met our expectations from other Holiday Inn stays). Would stay again! Negative: There is a self parking fee of $25. But this is similar to all the hotels in the area.
