I ordered the Special Rice Combination dish: almost everything's wrong with it. I did not feel like eating the meat because of the color... the flavor was very faulty and a bit too salty to where I didn't even have to use the fish sauce that was supposed to be used on the rice. The meat looked old and tasted super antique. The 3 tiny shrimps was waaay undercooked all 3 was raw, the egg was overcooked. The whole dish costs almost $18 and the only thing that was edible was the rice itself. I will never come to this restaurant in the future because (1) menu is over priced (2) the food might make me sick. It is unbelievable for me to have learned that a decent number of people are loving this restaurant and its menu. I can't believe a restaurant that serving dishes this low and poor in quality's still in business. Time will definitely tell. Mark my words. This place won't be around for that much more longer. Watch.

The last time I was here I had the pho dac biet. That was 2 stars for me. Broth was lacking in flavor. Too many noodles and not enough broth. The cuts of meats were tiny and stringy. Barely any green onions and herbs in the broth. I ordered bun bo hue this time. Pleasantly surprised by the bun bo hue! It was super tasty and flavorful. Enough meats, broth, AND noodles. The hot chili oil looks house-made. However, it didn't seem super fresh. Hot chili oil does need to be refrigerated if not consumed within an amount of time. This place has been slow the two times I've been here so if the oil has been sitting out it might explain why it tasted the way it did. There were more charred/burnt pieces of chili/spices than what I would consider edible but HEY, not the end of the world. Being the only patron in the restaurant at the time it did seem odd that my order took as long as it did BUT I will wait for a quality bowl versus a rushed lukewarm bowl!

To be quite honest I’ve held off going to this place because of the name. UnPHOgettable… yes, I get it that it’s cute and I’m not above a strained pun now and then, but it sounds like a chain. Plus I hear the ghost of Nat King Cole singing that ear worm in my head every time I see the name. Well, more the fool I. Now it’s true they have a bank of televisions in the middle of the place that make it look a sports bar died there and the new owners didn’t know what to do with the leftover screens, but I suppose they can be forgiven, we all know that Americans love their television. So, let’s get to the the Meat of the situation, and more importantly, the broth of the matter. The basil was the freshest I’ve seen. Not just fresh, but it looked like it had never been packaged. Do they grow it themselves? It was a nice touch, and the lime was juicy. The broth came clear and savory with my requested noodles, which lifted easily from the bowl. The beef was lean and tender and the condiment tray was well stocked, I like to bump up my heat level after getting a good sense of the party going on in the bowl. A small thing, but I love the Stassen brand of Jasmine tea they serve, it is one of the most fragrant on the market. I also love how the different tastes come swimming up out of the broth like curious little fish coming to see what heck is going on… here’s a little anise, oh, there’s a bit of lime! Oh! Hello pepper! I would think if you could bath in this stuff, you’d live forever. Other than the tv screens, which blessedly were not turned up loud, it’s a pretty serene atmosphere, but that didn’t make my old ugly self feel even a bit out of place. I’ll give it a straight up 5 outa 5.

The food here was actually a very good for a small mall location. I am very surprised. The banh xeo was shockingly amazing and yummy. It was crisp and filling. The flavor is really good here. The pho is also relatively nice. The dumplings were mediocre, but yummy for some of the kids. And the chicken wings with fish sauce were quite good. The skin was very crisp and flavorful. Parking is pretty easy and the food was spot on the delivery time that grub hub told me it would be ready.
