My daughter got married there. It is beautiful.. hot day but it was a nice breeze. She just wanted something small outside. Covid is still alive.. Don't forget that. We really enjoyed it. Then came the rain when it was almost over 😂

Went here for a hike with a group of friends and it was beautiful!! One of the best parts for me personally was that I was able to walk with my walker. This was important to me because I used to love to walk everywhere but the last 3 years have been a challenge to do any walking due to arthritis. Being able to walk in this park was SO encouraging to keep moving. The other great thing about this 2 mile walk is there are gorgeous stops along the way that allow for a rest and enjoyment of a garden, bridge, or simply a bench to sit on with a poem to read. Love it and I will definitely be back!!

Beautiful nature trails. They are easy to navigate and are well maintained. The treetop canopy provides shade when it's really hot out. The pond is lovely and serene; minus the potential for a barking dog in the neighboring residences.😄 There's no restroom, so potty before you go. 😆

I thoroughly enjoyed my walk along the trails and will return. This is a great spot to semi-escape the city and enjoy nature. The trails are well maintained with mulch. I came after a rain and there were no muddy puddles. You can still hear the sounds of the city (e.g., sirens and motorcycles) but the sounds of nature dominate. A great spot for a solo or family walk.

Their website says walking/hiking trails doesn't mention bikes. Walking there last week it looks like they are putting mulch on the trials so might not be the best for biking. http://www.cityofchesapeake.net/government/city-departments/departments/parks-recreation-tourism/parks/arboretum.htm
I believe you can. Just look out for people walking. There are a lot of different trails so you should be good to go. Have fun and enjoy, it's a beautiful area.
There is no gift shop that I recall.
Mosquitoes are bad in the summer, but yeah. Long straight trails, not completely devoid of roots, but could be much worse.
Yes, it will be open.
Yes, parking is acrossed the street from the trails and it is a gravel lot with no space lines
Oh yes, have brought mine multiple times, but yes, dogs should stay on leash at all times.
