Security Guards were rude and just very unprofessional. The two stood at the doors acting like they were guarding the mint with their hands on their guns. It was ridiculous

Horrible office. Called to get appointment twice to get social security number. They mentioned that there is a waitlist and that they will call back later. However, they never called. Each phone call took more than 30 minutes to pick up. Wasted 2 weeks just trying to get an appointment.

Very helpful in that they are communicative about issues, call back when they say they will. But, I mailed them my certified original document and they sent it back in a cheap folder that ripped when mailed back. They didn't put any "fragile" stickers, just sent it back in a basic manila envelope. They refuse to compensate because it "didn't happen on their property." But they left me no choice but to mail since walkins are unavailable. Absolutely upset at their uncaring for my original document.

Was very please w/the process. Went on a Thursday at around noon checked in and was given a number. I was only there five minutes at most, when I was called. Whole process took 30 minutes.I did have an appointment, so I assume that helps. Also, my suggestion to those who wish to reduce the time that they spend here is bring as much of the documentation they request w/you as possible, It will definitely make the whole process less painfully.... - Tammy Anderson

The easiest way is to go to www.ssa.gov. You will need to create an account to request a replacement. You can also go to a Social Security office.

Go to your closest office. And take proof what ever papers you have.

Sure you can but not as much as you can if 65 years or older.
Yes it will reopen Tuesday the 21st.
It took me less than 30 minutes to do the paperwork. And get a temporary copy/ voucher, that I could use to get a job I was Appling for. But It took about 7 or 10 days for my actual card to get mailed to me. Does that help?
SS doesn't judge upon how many hours you work, they judge upon how much money you make. They take about $1 for every $2 you make out of the cash assistance they give you. If you begin to work you have to notify them and report your monthly wages to the SSA via app or phone. They use your income to calculate how much they will give you each month. If your monthly income does not fluctuate you should receive the same amount every month. If it does, expect that over or under payments can occur. In my experience no matter how thorough you are, for whatever reason they are incapable of always giving you the correct amount!
What paperwork?

Short process in office, application might be online but you will end up at the office anyway to prove who you are.
Yes
If you make an appointment it will go faster. Not completely necessary, but a good 4 hours is cut out of wait time.
Call main number
I believe you can. Though I didn't and I got in and out in 30 minutes. I'd assume that I got lucky and see about scheduling one. If they no longer schedule appointments then just make sure you have all the documents you need and maybe bring anything you might think is relevant or could help the process along.
You should call and check if they made a mistake...you can try going in monday and show you had an appointment early so you can go in first when they open but if it was a mistake you will have to wait until he has time to see you rather than him making time for you with a corrected appointment.
If you call they may have a directory that could help in your language of choise. To best help you find what you are looking for. If you have to go in, they are quick and very helpful. Don't dread going in, just make sure you bring any paperwork you need and your I.D. or and cards or papers to prove you are who you say you are. It helps it go faster if you are prepared to show them any papers that they ask for. But call first and see if you could get an answer on the phone.
