Please someone report this agency that sits on voucher money and don't help the homeless. Where's the federal funding really going? People need to ban together and make noise and report why they are not helping the homeless? This agency needs to be audited. They have enough money to move to a fancy building but they don't have the money to help the homeless.

Wish I could give 0 stars. This place is a joke. They discriminate against people. They don't return phone calls. They reject and deny people based off of the dumbest reasons. This place is doing more harm to Long Beach residence than good. This place needs to be shut down or new managers and workers needs to be hired. The receptionists are the only ones who help the applicants. The ones deciding who gets approved are not qualified to make those decisions. How do you deny people who are in desperate need for housing? How do you turn away people who are homeless after you pulled them to receive it? that's disturbing.

This new location/staff is not good. When I went down there to drop off some important documents, I was told I didn't need a document receipt before leaving, even though I always used to get one. Two weeks later I call back for an update, and I am told that my paperwork was never received. Are you kidding me? and then, I have this lady on the other side of the line scolding me for being a persistent caller. She tells me "I don't know." to all of my questions. I'm sorry, but these are peoples lives you are working with, no updates, no communication, no help from this staff. Overall a very bad experience...

Currently our SRO's are for VASH participants only. If your voucher is close to expiring, contact your move specialist or housing specialist and they will sign you up for a mobility counseling for an extension on your voucher. The mobility counseling is every Wednesday @ 1:00
You should have gotten a confirmation at the time of you filling out the application. I did.
Yes, it's called porting in after a year at the current resident being resided at & a portability worker would be assigned to the sec. 8 recipient & he or she will inform the person wanted to port from either a different city or state. Hopefully that will give you the answer you were looking for.
You might want to call or go in office
Annette, please contact the housing authority
Yeah, you can.
I'm disabled no feedback . Been on list too long. What's the problem
It goes on a percentage of your income
I believe soon, just apply & if & when thing's change. Let them know to change your information.
No, because it did in 2016, that's when I had applied. But sighn up up for Section 8 updates to get a notification of when they would be opening up.

Hello. Please go to our website haclb.gov and go to apply then you can put yourself on the list
Call the housing authority and ask them who is your worker. Then leave a message with your worker regarding changes to your rental agreement.
It could take up to three weeks maybe a lil longer they should be getting ready to send you the moving brief appointment first
yes www HACLB.ORG
I m experiencing something similar who do you contact for actual help not the same thing that I’m getting from building management please
Contract the intake dept. They can give u insight
Go to the Long Beach Housing Authority in person and ask to see a Housing Specialist. You can update your address online.
I suggest that you check with the H.A. themselves here in Long Beach. There is a new building about to open (they are not saying when) for 62 and up. Great location, very new building. Seniors mostly if not only.
I heard 2019 or something
Hello. There are many neighborhoods in our city. Some if the buildings/units are quite old and have been rehabbed, there are some brand new structures going up downtown and some units that are older and have been "refreshed" ie..new paint. We are a beach city with the beach easily accessible from anywhere in the city.
You can apply online, but call them or go in to see if the can mail a app. to you.
The voucher amount in Long Beach is different for each zip code and bedroom size. Yes the Payment standards are different from LA.
Hi. Please check with your local Housing Authority to determine their port out policy. They can provide you with the correct agency information for porting (transferring)
The market is very slow for section 8 tenants and the rents are increasing. Currently there is a lot on new buildings being developed for elderly and disabled which have their own waiting list. You may contact our office on Monday for more information
