Fantastic park. Great for walking on trails and enjoying nature, biking , kayaking, picnics, dates, etc, and great if you love history, ruins, and photography. P.s. if you think about going on the old railroad tracks please be careful. Its still very active. And don't go near the ruins at night. Too many holes and other hazards. And keep your dogs on your leash, and children under 12 must be with an adult.

As of 3/6/22 the water is pretty low and affects the kayaking route to get to the waterfall. Due to the low water level there are currently 2 small rapids you will have to go down. I was able to but I saw other people flip and a few with kids/dogs turned back. On way back you'll have to get out and carry kayak over the rocks. Once past the rapids, the creek leading to waterfalls is at parts only a few inches deep and is not able to be accessed via water. We ended up beaching our kayaks and hiking along the right side of the bank to get to the waterfall. Still a fun day! But our kayaks definitely got scratched up scraping the bottom and rocks. If you see the kayak dock is on the ground/low on the bank be prepared for rapids/walking to the waterfall. We also saw a few copperheads so keep that in mind.

Beautiful park. Trails are well tended. I recently did a Duathalon here that included trail biking and running. The scenery was lovely. Very well kept park. A lot of parking. Tough hill to climb back to parking lot after strenuous exercise. Multiple trail options. Should definitely be on your rotation if you enjoy mountain biking or trail running.

I couldn't agree more. Every time we have been there we have seen trash everywhere and thought the same thing. It's lighter to take back packaging after you have eaten and drank what you brought. It's a disgrace that people can't take better care of the natural beauty that surrounds us. We have even talked about bringing bags to clean up next time we go not that it will change people's behavior.
Yes, they have several bikes trails. Right now the park is closed due to flooding, but normally the trails are pretty good for a beginner like me.
There is no kayak rental on the property, but they do have slips that allow for kayaking. So if you're able to rent elsewhere and bring it, you're good to go !
Yes, the water is sometimes pretty muddy, but there are still some good spots for swimming
Put in and dock at the same spot. Easy access if you can find a parking spot lol
Yes very cool and easy to do with the kayak ramp
I have seen people there, however with all the new developments in the county it would not surprise me if they were close
