Love this visitors center on the "peaceful side of the Smokies"! Always an awesome stop to get some stamps for our National Park passport books and collect park maps. Everyone here is always so nice and helpful! Highly recommended way to enter the park through Townsend!

Mr. Fred was amazing! He gave us wonderful advice for sightseeing around the area. Very knowledgeable. He was also super friendly. The Big foot festival was going on and they were busy, but he took his time with everyone in a very special way. Best experience I could ask for!

I stop here every time I go to Townsend. They're really good about knowing what trails are open and closed, and letting you know what to expect hiking that day. I'm sure they know lots more, but that's usually what I ask about before hiking. Everyone is really nice and helpful, and sometimes you learn things about the area you never knew before. There are all kinds of souvenirs, t-shirts, hats, stuffed animals, books, maps, and other things as well. Definitely worth stopping by.

Very high tourist traffic. Cannot really answer as to the work availability. Do some research. That being said, it is a beautiful area. The national park, Nashville is relatively close. The great outdoors. Great place to retire. In my opinion. Good luck.
It should be unless there is alot of snow n ice up there if there is they will have it closed you probably could call the Great Smoky mountaons visitor center and they could tell you mountains
Ok
There is not a large selection of motels near...not sure what ones are pet friendly or not
Cades Code park has a large one way road that loops around the entire park. There are many pull offs to get out and enjoy the sites. Just before entering the loop, you can picnic to the left & there is a small stop off on the left, past the picnic area & just before entering the loop that you will be able to park. Enjoy! As Cades Cove has a lot to offer!
