I figured on a Saturday parking was free after 7pm (only been back in CA for a year and this was my first time back after 14 years and Newport Beach is mostly free after that time daily) but I was wrong and got a $65 ticket for parking. Yes I was dumb to assume but how do you issue a $65 ticket after I had been at the location for 18 mins per the ticket and even thou I caught the BS parking lot PD and tried to explain my issue via photos and receipts he said it wasn't his problem. So basically this parking lot is a $$$ trap and the view isn't worth it and it has shore breaking waves so I learned my lesson and would tell people to go down the street to the Wedge and see a better break and view and not pay for parking where homeless people get to sleep in corners all around the beach. Granted I have a jaded perception so don't trust me I'm only speaking from actual experiences.

Went to this side of the beach during a school field trip a couple months ago from Arizona to California. It was amazing to me, seeing a body of ocean in real life for the first time to me!

Great parking lot! Right next to the ocean. Tons of shops near by. Walking distance to Ruby's Diner! You do have to pay for this parking lot!

YES YOU HAVE TO PAY 24 HOUR PARKING . THEIR'S A METER READER IN A WHITE CAR WITH LAPTOP .
Yes, machines take debit and credit cards No Cash.
Yes the parking meter is to pay your parking space, you can pay with a Visa or master card logo like your debit card too. And it will ask for your vehicle license number as form to recognize that you pay for your space to park. You can chose to pay by hour or hours . Then the ticket you get from machine you post it inside your car on dash board so they can see your ticket by windshield 👍
We arrived early afternoon and it was great!!
Everyone pays for day pass parking. Cheapest parking lot in the area.
