I visited this store for my business and this place has the worse customer service I have seen in a very long time. I was ignored at the front desk by a lady with her head buried in her computer screen. When she finally got to me she was very rude. I had to come back with some paperwork which was fine. When I came back the same lady had a better attitude but still was not very helpful. She screamed at me about going out of a entryway door that was open. The when I came back in with my cart she proceeded to tell me again not to go out that door as if I was a small child. Why would I go all the way around the store to grab a cart 3 feet away from me. As I am leaving out a lady checks my receipt and I am now leaving the store then I guy jumps out of nowhere and puts his hand out for my receipt. I tell him the other lady has already checked it. He looks at me like “who” I say the young lady right there. He the tells me “the next time someone tells you to not go out a door don’t go out the door”. Are you serious!!!! Talking to me like I’m a child!!!! I will never spend my hard earned money in this place again!!! Hope the GM is proud this place is a joke.

My husband and I were there Saturday March 12th around noon and we were in the checkout, paid for all of our items, the receipt checker was less than 6 feet away, staring at every scan the cashier made, we paid our bill of $207. We go to walk out, he stops us, asks for our receipt. Mind you, he literally watched, like a hawk, every single scan, could see and hear everything going on. He then asks for our receipt, we give it to him. He walks around and checks every single item, we go to walk out. A man, white man, is behind us from another register, he waves him off! I felt like this was very discriminatory. Why, when he watched us pay for everything, didn't stop the guy also? I hate to say that word but it's what it was. I don't like it when we are picked out and treated differently. If you are going to do your job, do your job and treat everyone the same! Not sure if im going back.

I was hoping to taste the best chili in KC, but that didn't happen. A small bowl of beans was covered by a slice of cheese then topped with slightly flavored ground chili meat with onion sliced rings (which was a first, since normally you get diced onion!). I hated to do it, but the addition of ketchup was necessary to even come close to my minimum standards for chili. I am sure that this is a neighborhood favorite as the staff talked with patrons that they knew. This experience made want to make my own chili, and vow never to order chili anywhere. A big let down for me personally.

Recently I’ve been going back to depot because they seem to carry more of what I need. I’ve been going there for 8 years. The only issue I’ve had is the guy with the silver pigtail on top of his head. He’s rude. Maybe he doesn’t like his job but rolling your eyes because you had to count my cart and then leaving my stuff where you put it to fall is NOT what I would say is expected. We are all in the business industry and a little kindness goes a long way. Respect and understanding as well. I have respect for your employees because they have to put up with a diversity of patrons. He needs to be put in the freezer section to cool down.

What Erick said is true. Need your business I'd and they'll let you join. Pretty good deals on things, especially produce and bulk meats. In fact bring a winter coat no matter what the season when going into the produce and meats areas cuz it's cold! They have parka like jackets for you to use if necessary! We also get their salmon and scallops for home because they're a good price and delicious! Split with friends 😊 And good deals on kitchen wares-great knives, storage containers, gadgets,etc. We really like it.

It's a wholesale store, not open to the public. You'll need a Resale license to get a member card.
Here's what they have on their website: "Restaurant Depot is wholesale only. To qualify for a free membership account, on your first visit you need to show a valid reseller's permit (business license) or tax-exempt certificate (for a non-profit organization) and show proof that you are authorized to purchase for said business or organization."
