Cool place, not much in terms of miles, can be muddy. I like but not so crazy about.

Nice place to hike not good for 3 years or younger. It is steep in some places and there is lots of vegetation on the trail now.

The entrance is at the end of a very narrow residential street with limited parking. Water runs down the middle of the street, and it turns out this water is from the stream that runs down the middle of the park. Just getting started required going up a steep flight of broken steps covered in running water, or bypassing them for a steep, narrow path. All the trails we saw in this park were narrow and uneven, and sometimes had no good place to step. Most of them seem to be right on the edge of something steep. I wouldn't want to fall into the creek, which is muddy and nearly stagnant in many places, as well as being surround by rocks and sharp branches that would make a fall very painful. It doesn't look like these trails are maintained. It's true the park is very pretty and green, and that the trails are mostly shady (something that's hard to find in L.A.) But the condition of the trails made us decide not to go very far. It just wasn't fun.

No not a camp spot

Is there filming allowed on this location?

Ditto. I would check at City Hall. A "small" project will likely fall off the radar but a larger scale project may result in a violation for lack of a permit.

Dixie Canyon Park does not have a park building for any events or classes for children. It is a hiking trail. Check out Sherman Oaks Park at Hazeltine just north of Riverside.
