Looked up places to eat in Arlington and Babe's kept popping up so that is the first place we hit for dinner. It is family style, you order your meat and drink and the sides are just brought out for the table. Sides: salad (lettuce and dressing), homemade biscuits (solid biscuit), green beans (flat and very seasoned - very good), mashed potatoes (very good), white gravy (good), and corn (good). Meats: fried chicken (very good - I think it is half a chicken - not sure), chicken fried steak (very good - cut with a fork), chicken tenders (why? But good - had the honey mustard dipping sauce), baked chicken (idk), fried catfish (idk). Atmosphere was dark and cozy, the place was clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Most meats were $17 and change. You can't take the sides with you in a doggy bag but you can take your left over meat. Would like to try the curb side pickup to see how that goes. Good stuff, will return.

Mmmmmmazing! Best chicken I've had in a while. Also a treat to see sorghum and butter on the table. That touch reminded me of growing up and my mother mixing butter and sorghum together to spread on her biscuits. Each location is a tad different as this one offers 5 meat and several sides, including green beans. Ordering is simple, choose a meat and you get everything else served family style...and as much as you want of each side. The interior reminds me of a downtown along route 66 with facades of general stores, a motor lodge, service station and a church built out from the walls. Get there early, there will be a line...but it's worthbit.

OVERALL: The meat is good and there are some gluten free options, but Babe's has some odd To-Go policies, the sides are not worth it, odd hours like how they close at 2 PM but reopen again at 5 PM on weekdays, and they have no delivery. DINE-IN: Ate there alone the first time but I felt rushed as a single guest so I only get takeout now; perhaps they are more used to larger parties. TAKEOUT: Their takeout is pretty good as long as you order in advance. Unfortunately, you can't order online, only in person or on the phone. GLUTEN FREE: I'm glad they have gluten free options like the fried catfish and the smoked chicken,as well as all the sides, except the biscuits and gravy. Unfortunately, I'm not sure about any of the sauces being gluten free and, I know for a fact that, all their desserts are not gluten free either. PRICES & QUALITY: I usually end up spending $20 and some change here. I usually get the fried catfish takeout without any of the sides because I don't think the sides are worth the price. TO-GO: Be sure to try and finish as much of the sides as you can because taking anything to go other than the meat you have ordered is not allowed, it's kind of ridiculous. If you don't finish your meat they will let you put it in a flimsy plastic bag, not even a real To-Go Box. Basically getting anything To-Go is not worth it and, for convenience purposes, get takeout instead if, you want to take any food home. ODD HOURS: For some reason, Babe's chicken has weekday hours are 11 AM - 2 PM, close, and then reopen from 5 PM - 9 PM, but on weekend days it's 11 AM - 9 PM with not closing in the middle of the day like on a weekday. It's very odd and inconvenient.

Came as a friend recommended their fried chicken. Started with a disappointment as they do not allow sharing of a plate - a plate is a breast, thigh, wing and drumstick with a lot of sides and it’s more than enough for 2 people. But nope, it’s either they charge you $11 for veggie sharing or you order another full plate and told you that you can takeaway anything that you can’t finish. Price is $15.99 now for the chicken plate (we weren’t shown a menu and only know the price after asking). And I ended up ordering a chicken tender plate. The sides included iceberg lettuce salad with bare minimum vinaigrette, biscuits that don’t hold, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans. I only enjoyed the mashed potatoes. The fried chicken was really crispy but there wasn’t a lot of taste in the batter - Nashville fried chicken is better, or perhaps popeyes in general (at least they don’t do force ordering). We couldn’t finish the chicken and was packing, was going to also pack the mashed potatoes that we couldn’t finish, but the server came and tried to clear of everything on the table and said that only the chicken can be taken away. Even after I said I wanted to eat more of the mashed potatoes she just took the gravy away. What for? I did not ask for refill just so that I can takeaway the food, it was just so that things don’t go to waste, what good does it do to just throw everything away? All in all, not a good experience, never again.

Really don't know. There's got to be dairy. I would think. I'd call to make sure. Really great food
No, because you only ordered chicken
Only the entree, not the sides. Sides are all you can eat.
It's BYOB.. No rules that I've come across. Bags/coolers[nothing over sized I would assume]
We've never check exactly but no more than that for 1 person, drink included. Maybe closer to $15? But it is family style so well worth the money. And it is byob for adult drinks.
