Very nice park with various options for hike, 2-3 miles, 5 miles and 15 miles. We did 2-3 miles trails and it is medium trail not so hard. View from top is spectacular. You can see PCH , Laguna and many more places from top… very organized, enough parking space, restroom available and also if you are interested in camping, you ca do that too…. You can go to beach after completing your hike for relaxing yourself using tunnel under PCH. For one day parking you have to pay 20$.

Such a gorgeous beach. Be prepared for the walk down the ramp....I say kick of your shoes so you don't slide. It's worth it when you reach the bottom. Gorgeous cliffs and stunning views. There are rocks out in the water so be safe. Pods of dolphins swimming by and the colors of the water are breathtaking.

This place is beautiful and clean. It is $10 to park and a hike down a steep hill, but it is fun! I don't recommend bringing people that have a hard time walking a long way here, nut they do have handicap access closer to the cottages where they filmed the movie Beaches. I recommend for the kids, they can swim and play in the sand, and the tide pools are there for exploring as well.

Beautiful place, quiet, not too crowded $15 parking, no dogs on beach. Awesome views. Great spot for early afternoon lunch and nap. I went @ noon on a Friday and was pretty happy with the lack of crowd. Great spot to watch the sunset. I parked at the reef spot, long stairs to go down.

sand fleas and yes the bite
It is a public beach. It would be best to discuss your ideas with the Park Ranger to see if it is something they could accommodate to your satisfaction. There are special events there all the time.
If you pay. There is a gate to get into the parking lot which is the same gate to get into the rv park.
Horses are allowed on all backcountry trails here at Crystal Cove State Park. You can park your trailer at Lower Moro or Ranger Station trail heads and pay for parking with staff on duty.
When i went we were looking for over an hour for a beach that was not so crowded and then we came across this one. That was on a Saturday and the park ranger said iti was always like this
Dogs are NOT ALLOWED on the actual beach at Crystal Cove (especially the historic district part of it)....there is signage posted, that says so. But I believe you can walk along the bike/hiking trail with your dog ON A LEASH, of course. (It's a dirt path, looking over the beach. Always a beautiful view, especially at sunset!!) Not 100% percent sure if dogs are "allowed"....but I HAVE SEEN PAW PRINTS ON THIS PATH MANY TIMES.
We were there the day after a big rain and we saw bicycles on the trails.
Yes
You have to walk a good 3 miles to get to it. It's in the back country not on the beach. Call El Morro Canyon
Yes it is, I was there last week. Have fun.
Until 6pm
Can't camp on the sand in so cal... Crystal cove is booked solid but you can always check for cancellations. Their campsites are on the opposite side of PCH as the beach and would be a walk to get to. No fires unless you bring your own propane pit. Maybe try the bluffs at San onofre and that'll be the closest to the beach next to doheny state park... Also very hard to score a spot at especially on the holiday weekend
4 general parking entrances, the Southern most is my personal favorite, but you do have to enter from the Inland side of Coast Hwy, closest to tide pools and snorkeling also you don't have to climb hill to reach rest room. Also occasionally on Extremely high tides tunnel to access beach will flood and is basically impassable unless you want to wade through knee deep slimy muck for about 20 yrds. (fairly rare) YAHWEH KING of KINGS
Behavior has nothing to do with why dogs are not allowed. Crystal Cove State Park is home to many different wild animals including bobcats, coyotes, rabbits, and countless others. Our beloved canine friends are these animals predators so while we may see them as cute little fluffballs the animals who live in the park see them as ruthless predators. As far as dog friendly areas you can take them to any O.C. regional park and they are allowed on all beaches in Laguna until June 15.
Lower Moro entrance has camp grounds that can be reserved
Everything is open :)
Unfortunately there is no free parking. Daily & weekend rate is $15 for the entire day.
No at the moment u cannot camp park closes early i believe at 6 pm
Yes they are not stairs its like a driveway buy very steep your kids should be fine my 10 year old went there and climb back up with no problem i had my 5 month old on a stroller and my husband had to help yes thats thats the safest way and only way to get down to the beach
Gas only. No coal for safety reasons. You have to bring your own. No grills available. Keep in mind, there are ramps to get to the sand so make sure it's not a big grill
15 to park.. Walk to the beaxh

You will need to drive your car down a steep hill to access the beach parking lot.
Yes and the views are spectacular! I went to Moro campground about two weeks ago. Something for everyone there.
For travel trailers it would have to be self contained meaning you have your own shower or toilet but they do have tent camping as well. You can always call their main office.
Yes, just have to pay parking, but it is fair. I am happy to pay as it helps maintain it nice and enjoyable every time I go. Definitely a good place to visit and enjoy nature.
Surf fishing is allowed in the Crystal Cove and Dana Point State Marine Conservation Areas. No fishing is allowed in the Laguna Beach ...
Yes, there is in fact overnight camping. Although the parking section and the campground are separated by a small hike( about 2.25 miles) Hope this helps!
It can be, but you will probably have to get there early to get a spot more to your liking. Its at the beach so you pretty much know what comes with the area. There is a picnicking area with tables as well closer to the parking lot but to get to beach you have to walk under a tunnel. Hope my info helps and u have a great time. Also there is a bathroom.
Yes
Dont recall this being an issue. Thought the restrooms were fair size.
You shouldn't get in trouble for scattering any organic material and as long as this is going to be a very small gathering you'll be fine. If you are planning to have more than a few people though, you should contact the ranger station and they can tell you what you need to do to plan this special event. Actually, you should talk to a ranger about your plans. Here is a link to their contact info ; https://www.crystalcovestatepark.org/special_events/
All trails and parking lots close at sunset (except for Los Trancos which stays open later for the restaurant only)
Dogs are not allowed on the beach or on the back country hiking trails. There is a multi-use trail that goes along the coastal bluff where dogs are allowed.
Yes if space is available
There are the cottages. If you want to stay for more than one night you need to reserve six months in advance. You check the ranger station after 3:00 pm to see if there is an opening for the night. Also, there are campgrounds, hotels, and resorts along the highway.
If you decide to camp at the primitive sites, be aware there is no water
all day parking until sunset 10 bucks
There are 2 restaurants here at Crystal Cove State Park, both are in the historic district with parking available at Los Trancos on the east side of PCH. The Shake Shack is open 7:00am -8:00pm and the Beachcomber Cafe is open 7:00am - 10:00pm. See you in the Park!
There are many miles of trails and beautiful beaches, so yes I would say this is a great place to move.
Look up the Beachcomber parking lot I don't know if they have handicap parking but there is a small parking lot and a pathway to the beach that is wheelchair friendly
Yes
There is an option when you can sign up for email alert in case someone cancels and there is a vacancy. I have received alerts twice last year.
Thetexare signs along the way if you want to park. Do a little wLkinh
There are several campgrounds in Crystal Cove State park, two inland, and one on the beach , check reservations.gov for booking
Dogs are only welcome on the 3-mile paved multi-use bluff trail on the coastal side of Pacific Coast Highway, in parking lots, on the ramps, or on any paved surfaces. Dogs are not permitted on any of the backcountry hiking trails, on the beach, or at the Beachcomber Café.
