Staff on site were great and the horses as well. 1 hr ride is $65, 60 if you pay cash; guides work for tips only. Management is the total opposite. I and the group of three that I rode with had our ride terminated because of lightening. The ride was under 30 minutes. Later I called to see if we would receive credit or a refund, and I was told they were deciding what to do. It has been since June 22 and I have not heard from them. Not happy, not happy AT ALL.

This was the highlight of our weekend trip in Big Bear area, so much fun! Staff was very friendly. Was able to book a ride for 2, 3 hours in advance on a Saturday in June. I did get a bit scared because my horse Moss was acting up and didn’t like a new horse in the group, but the guides did help me correct him and the ride was enjoyable

So awesome! Must call ahead at least 3 days advanced! Their phone rings often, so if it is busy, try again in 10 minutes. Price is $55 per hour per person for card payment or $50 cash. Minimum age is 7 and 70 pounds, and if you're over 225 pounds then you get a larger horse. They provide helmets for everyone. They provide bags for pocket stuff and phones, but phones must be on silent for the ride. You have to use both hands the whole time, so no phone use while riding. The horses are very friendly and walk at a slow pace. You get on a platform to easily mount the horse and dismount when done. You ride for about 15 minutes to the mountain trail, then you do an uphill climb on a trail. Then you take a picture with your group using your phone/camera - the trail guide takes the pictures. The horses know where to go and follow the trail guide. I had never ridden a horse before and my daughter hadn't either, but it was easy and fun. Highly recommended! For under 70 lbs, they have a pony ride, and there is a petting zoo.

Great experience! It was our first time riding and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The horses are well trained and the guides, Hunter & Cheyenne, are very knowledgeable of the horses and the area. I got to ride Oscar, the beautiful white draft horse. We'll definitely be back and try a longer ride.

Best thing is to call them they have different rides and times.
We do not do boarding. Shay Meadows Ranch would be whom you want to get in contact with
The sign could be a little more obvious aka noticeable, but look for a red sign that says parking and point to the lot.
Yes ,you do ...
$55 card or $50 cash. Minimum age is 7 and 70 pounds for trail. Ponies is anyone under 70 pounds.
The horses and staff are wonderful!! My 7 year old had a great time. They also have a pony riding area for younger riders.😊 When we are visiting Big Bear in the future, we will be going back to Bakdwin Stables.
