They were a great help for my son ...Just wish he could have stayed longer!! πππΎ

My son was recently a patient here. He suffers from schizophrenia. They literally rushed to discharge him when he was off of his medication for 2 months. He was sent to The Jary Bareto crisis treatment center. Then 2 days later kicked out on the street because he was still having psychotic symptoms and needed more acute care treatment. I called Alvarado Parkways Institute to admit. Never again will this hospital give him treatment if I can help it

Absolutely awful standard of care. The way they called to tell me my daughter was there was so scary. Just asked if I had a daughter, long pause...Is her name βββ-?β....Long pause... they wouldnβt say what was going on until I finally said: βYou are making me nervous. Can you just tell me whatβs going on?β Surely they could find a better way to handle that call. Staff very unresponsive, unprofessional and disinterested in patients. My daughter spent over a week there and in that time so many unacceptable instances. Doctors will not return calls. Many patients are too sick and/or sadly have no family/visitors to monitor care. This is why they get away with this. Having said all this, there are a FEW caring and dedicated staff, but they are very much in the minority.

Horrendous experience. Nursing staff are idiots, do not care about the patients, drug the patients to keep them quiet and asleep. Doctors never return phone call requests. Information is not shared between services so no one knows what is going on. Staff has no interest in what important information family members need to share with them that is vital for the patients care and recovery. Absolutely inhumane treatment.

I'd like to know as well. How?
If he is not a current threat to himself or others they will not keep him against his will. Itβs very sad. I assist a few homeless people who deal with psychosis and schizophrenia and they need so much help yet the police and the doctors donβt force treatment unless the patient is a current risk. Has your son been located? Iβd like to help share his information to help find him. My email address is amchthdu @ gmail . Com.
M-f is 715pm to 830pm and on sat and sunday is those same hours but also from 1-3pm :) i work there.
They don't answer the phone or nothing!"
Yes you can come in voluntarily :)
Not this place try sharp in city heights has out patient
Because she is an adult she will have to be committed against her will by a psychiatrist or the police. She can seek help on her own but you cannot force her into treatment. I honestly wish that in certain situations we could force an evaluation but patients have rights until an authoritarian takes those rights away.
Not on black friday because Nov. 29 is considered a County holiday alongside Thanksgiving Day. Medical Records office will be open again on Monday. You can walk-on to request your records. They should be able to get then to you same day.
No it's not staff is retaliatory with 0 integrity or respect (think dmv meets prison nursing home)
No, this facility doesn't do that.
You will talk to a MD. If you are feeling suicidal then you will probably be admitted depending on what the MD decides
This hospital does not bill any insurance for services. It is mainly to serve those who do not have any insurance or means to pay. We try to send patients who have insurance to other hospitals who accept their insurance to make room for people who don't have any insurance.
Yeah
