This place was so good! The fish was fresh and they had decent portion sizes, too. Did not disappoint. Azuki was pretty busy on a weeknight when I went. I showed up without an appointment and they were able to seat me pretty quickly, granted I went alone. Once seated at the bar, I was greeted by one of the sushi chefs and server promptly. Everything on the menu sounded like it would be great. I ended up ordering a chirashi that came with miso soup, and a rainbow roll. The sushi chef was very thoughtful and asked if I had any preferences with my fish. I got my miso soup before my food came and it was a bigger bowl than I expected. The sushi chef served up a beautiful bowl of chirashi on a bed sushi rice with sesame. He checked on me after a few bites and we started conversing. He's had 10+ years of experience! Overall, great service and great food! I would definitely go back if I were ever in the area again.

Amazing sushi restaurant in downtown San Diego! I went here to celebrate my best friends birthday and we just happened to find it near our Airbnb, get a parking spot close by, and be seated within 30 minutes! We sat upstairs and it was quite noisy, so I asked our waiter if we can be moved to a different spot and he accommodated us! Excellent food and service. Everyone knew the menu very well and were very knowledgeable on sushi. I have some shellfish allergies and I was guided on what to order to accommodate. Great experience!

I one hundred percent love this place! We came here for a Saturday dinner and of course it’s better to make a reservation beforehand. The foods here are amazing, we ordered a bunch of different things. My favorites are Uni Nigiri, sardine nigiri, lobster rolls, pon hama, and crispy rice & spicy tuna. All the fishes are beautifully cut and super fresh. The sushi roll flavor is very well balanced with a unique taste. Here’s service is nice too. I highly recommend you come here to check out if you love Japanese food.

I would rate this restaurant as 5+ star. Normally, if the food is tasty and the service is good, I’ll rate 5 star. However, this place has another amazing thing: the gods serving speed is super fast! Normally for sushi place, especially for expensive one, the serving speed would be slow. But this restaurant successfully delivered an impossible triangle: great taste, great service, great speed!
