Lake O'Neill Campground

We always enjoy ourselves when we are here. The campground appears to under new management and it is evident by the cleanliness. The staff provides excellent customer service. The restrooms and showers are clean. During the summer it can be warm but it is a 15 minute drive to Camp Pendleton Del Mar Beach. There are various water sport activities at Lake O'Neill, such as fishing, paddle boats, miniature golf, and much more. Several large playgrounds with jungle gyms that keep children entertained. Walking trails around the lake and very dog friendly. Bring your bikes and sporting equipment. Enjoy.

They cleaned out all the trees on the west side of the lake. Now there is no shade there. I wasn't catching anything, but a bunch of kids came up and were catching lots of blue gills... good sized too. I just wish it wasn't catch and release bass here.

The views are decent. The playground is excellent. Bathrooms are exceptionally clean. My kids enjoyed the nature trails, the dock, and putt putt. The price is incredibly low for the amenities. We'll definitely be back.

We’ve been here several weeks. Aside from having to move several times during our stay, it’s a decent place. Helicopters wake us up often at night though and the worst thing is the weeds. There are burs and grass seeds that agent into my dogs fur and toes. Check your dog’s feet daily to avoid an infection. The staff is very nice and the mini golf is fun. We’ve had loads of fun kayaking on the lake and there is a hike trail all around the lake( 3miles) The bathrooms and laundry room is very clean and takes credit cards. Cheap too!!!
