Reading everything their website has to say about all the different programs they claim to offer, it is a tremendous let down when you find out that NONE of its true. There is no one-on-one case management. No perminent housing. They dont work with you to find you help or resources- none that do any good anyway. Nope. They have 4 or 5 programs listed on their website and not 1 of them are anything other then lies. More like HOPELESS HOUSE.

The staff go above and beyond the call of duty, either by helping those who wish to progress or by showing no judgment for those whose ambition is blocked. They help you get to work, they help you find housing, they cook for you and make you laugh. The only stressors are the other clients staying there-- lots of hard drugs users and thieves and people who are too ill to pursue mental health. But as long as you remain focused, you can get out. I am so grateful for the staff, they show endless empathy, and I'm so grateful for their resilience and patience.

(2020) I respect and appreciate any and all shelters that are helpful and resourceful to the homeless community. I have a friend that stays at this particular shelter and I believe her when she says it's a nice place. She seems really happy and grateful with the help, security and safety she receives while staying at the Hope House. Everyone that I've interacted with during my brief visit at the time were in good spirits and possessed big smiles. Update: Feb 20, 2022 Ironically, I have been living here myself for a little over two weeks now and it has been great! There's: three meals a day, more than enough restrooms, hot showers available, bathing supplies, a clothing closet, avenues for further assistance, fresh linens, mail delivery, can either stay in building or go out and about if needed (curfew @ 930pm), patio available for smokers, re-entry into building every 30 minutes, nice spacious lockers that are assigned, and the building itself has a computer area, spacious lobby and dining area, oh and laundry can be done on site. The staff are amazing and make it look easy accommodating our basic, daily needs. Every woman here, including myself has "their story" and why they are here. We are all different and on our own particular journey... but at the end of the day I am sure I am not the only woman that's grateful and appreciative of a place like this. The rules are no different than they are when employed in a workplace. Rules are fair and not controlling. Hope House is a wonderful place!!! All shelters should be like Hope House!!!

How long can you stay here? And is there a curfew?
All donations can be dropped off at our administration offices located at 525 W. 2nd Ave and we will distribute items to the shelter from there. Thank you!
Hello, we are at capacity for clothing donations. Our current needs are listed on our website at voaspokane.org. Thank you for thinking of VOA!
Kind of, if you stay the night before you sign out on a list, that is called 1st then after i believe is 1st come 1st served..
You have to contact a social worker. I usually go to the shelter and request a social worker
