I visit Audiolab every-time I am in Boston. I trust Mike. Its very hard to find people like him nowadays ! Just got an audiophile Rotel CD unit, and plan to get the Marantz power amp this weekend! We need to protect this place in whatever way we can !

Brought my 1970s Dual belt drive turntable for repair. Quick job, works perfectly now. Quite inexpensive. Also had a stylus in stock for my Grado cartridge. Quick update: as of 4/2021 the turntable is still working perfectly. I'll be back.

Had a good time having two awesome amplifiers repaired here. The man was nice, the service was much quicker than I expected, and the items are well repaired. I haven't had many repairs done but the prices seem middle-of-the-road. A repair for an expensive piece can be well worth it, older technology may cost more than it is worth to sell.

I have been shopping and browsing at the Audio Lab for decades. It is a rare commodity now, a store about music and gear that satisfies mid and hi end fantasies. I have purchased used gear and headphones for friends and told others to take advantage of this place. His recommendations and sales have impressed and pleased them for years. Thank you.

They certainly work on that type and vintage of equipment. It's hard to speak directly as to whether they can repair any given model of cassette player, not to mention whether the individual item is repairable, but it's very likely they can.
This depends on a number of factors, principally availability. Turntables they are selling would likely be used, so you are to some extent at the mercy of current stock and the quality and consequent price thereof. I would guess the low end of the scale would be around 100$, on up into the thousands of dollars for very good quality items in excellent condition.
That would depend on the type of cartridge you're looking for and the quality you're looking for. The low end of the scale is around 20$ and the high end is 250$ or more. Just FYI in case you don't know - Make sure you know the mount type for your turntable. Standard mount and P mount are most common, but are not interchangeable. You can look it up easily on the internet as long as you know the model of your record player. I'm not sure what their prices are these days or what kind of availability they would have so you might call and ask.
Vintage and high end audio, McIntosh, NAD, Rotel, Nackamichi, Thorens, AR, ect. A good place to do business.
