We were able to buy the vehicle entrance 7-day pass here. The gentleman at the counter provided us with helpful information. You can pick maps and other flyers here on attractions in Acadia and Bar Harbor.

The information given about the national park was helpful BUT at the stand where we purchase our tickets for the park is a different story. We purchased our $30 ticket (a flimsy piece of paper), was told to put it in our window, we did as instructed and when a rushing stiff breeze came by, it got sucked out of our car. We walked the streets to find it, but we thought since we just purchased it we could get a replacement. The man at the counter simply said, “Nope, if you lost it. Can’t do anything” Translation - don’t care that we took $30,spend another $30. We decided to go directly to the national park, the gentlemen at the kiosk was extremely pleasant and explained that since my elderly parents were with us we could purchase a discounted ticket. Something that the chamber of commerce did not offer. And the ticket we purchased from the park was a mirror mounted ticket hanger, one that didn’t simply fly away. I feel that the chamber of commerce is not honest, not looking to offer the best deal and does not provide any service. DO NOT USE THEM.!!!!!!

Excellent location and a great way to get information about Bar Harbor and Acadia national park. The service is amazing and friendly and well worth a stop.

The Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce is the spark that lights the flame for our vibrant community, stimulating far more than business - art, culture, recreation, and a sense of excitement that fills the air on MDI are all the result of the outstanding work being performed everyday by the talented and hard working staff at the Chamber. Hello! The walk across the sand bar will likely take 10-15 minutes each way, if you are walking at a leisurely pace. Be sure to check the tide chart before your walk as conditions can change quickly. The sand bar is accessible for roughly 90 minutes before and after low tide. Have fun!
Hi there! We haven't finalized the rules for the 2021 event but we hope to have them available in the next few weeks. You can check with us directly by calling (207) 801-2566. Thanks!

Hi there! Your best best is to call Bar Harbor Coastal Cab at 207-288-1222. They will be able to offer an estimate on cost when you contact them. Thanks!
Hi Sally! Bar Harbor has several taxi options, including Bar Harbor Coastal Cab (207-288-1222). If you are staying in an inn or hotel, they should be able to accommodate that, just give them a call ahead of time to confirm!
Hi Mary Grace! We'd recommend reaching out to Mount Desert Island Hospital for the latest on drive-thru COVID testing. Here is some information that may be helpful to you: https://www.maine.gov/covid19/testing/mount-desert-island-hospital
Hi Zhem! Thank you for reaching out. The rules requiring quarantine or a recent negative test for travelers from states other than New Hampshire and Vermont were established by an executive order from Gov. Mills and remain in place. They reflect an abundance of caution based on the discovery of COVID-19 variants in other states, the small percentage of potential travelers who have had both doses of the vaccine, the length of time required for the vaccine to become fully effective after the second dose, and other public health considerations. Please stay up to date here: https://www.maine.gov/covid19/restartingmaine/keepmainehealthy. We welcome leashed furry pals! We recommend you review our blog post on the subject, when you have a moment: https://www.visitbarharbor.com/blog/visit-bar-harbor-4726/post/don-t-leave-your-dog-at-home-experience-pet-friendly-bar-harbor-with-them-19131

Hi Geoff, thank you for reaching out. As more people become fully vaccinated and as scientists learn more about the variants and the effectiveness of vaccination against them, travel rules could be reviewed.
Hi there! On our website, we have a regularly updated list of all open businesses in the Bar Harbor area. You will find a section on restaurants within this list. https://www.visitbarharbor.com/open Thank you!
Hi there, We're glad to hear you will be visiting us soon! Typically at that time of year there are several restaurants open to serve visitors and this year should be no different. As for Acadia National Park, all areas will be open to the public as the park is open year-round. The Jordan Pond House restaurant will be closed at that point, though. Thank you for your inquiry. Enjoy your visit!
Hi William! You could hire a taxi at the cruise pier to take you into the park (I'm sure your driver would have trail recommendations too) or you could rent a bike and cycle from downtown to a nearby trailhead. For transportation and activity ideas, check out our website www.visitbarharbor.com. We hope you enjoy your visit!
