I had an amazing experience at Sun City Stables! My guide was Yanet and she was incredible. The trail was well groomed but still felt adventurous. My horse was super gentle and well cared for… I have not been on a horse in a long while so this was the perfect re-introduction. I plan on scheduling a few formal lessons.

I have been here many times over the years and, as an experienced, lifelong equestrian, I like when I am paired with a spirited, spunky horse that is not as barn sour as most of them tend to be. I ended up with a privately owned horse that also sported a decent saddle and gear. (Some of the saddles on the trail horses are just hard plastic molds with no padding whatsoever, chewed bare by the tooth of time.) I had an appointment and still waited almost an hour to get set up and going. I love that I don’t *have to* take a guide with me and can go explore on my own. The area to ride is quite small, but I still book their 3-4-2 hours and repeat some of the trails a few times to get my horseback fix. (Pay for two hours, ride three.) Petting zoo with a number of domestic animals is fun, especially for the younger crowd. Super easy to get to from anywhere in the Tampa Bay and Sarasota area.

Big Silver Bear

What a great experience. Dillon was especially helpful. My wife and I only rode for an hour. I rode a beautiful draft horse named Willow who was a very sweet horse. She also farted a lot. (Oddly amusing and funny) The trail was mostly shaded on a nice cool 74 degree day. I'd do it again. Side note: This was a holiday weekend. They raise the rates on holiday weekends. They didn't tell us this when we made our reservations on the phone. It was a bit of a buzzkill finding out the day of the event after already having made reservations on the phone. They knew when we were coming. It wouldn't have been as big of a deal if the took cards. They only accept cash. So we had to dig in to our traveling petty cash.

The Watts Chix

This was our first time at Sun City Stables and it was a great time! Sara helped us at the desk, she was very understanding and friendly. We had Dylan as our guide and he was very patient and helpful with myself and my 7 year old daughter. We rode on Eden who was a retired barrel racing horse. She was beautiful and handled well even with someone who didn't really know what they were doing. We look forward to going again and again!
