It's a great place to visit. Lots of wonderful people working there. You do have to be approved by Google to go inside. Don't just show up expecting to get through the gates.

Very disappointed that the folks in Google think they have a right to close the River Front Trail anytime they feel the need, and for as long as it suits them. Not a good way to stay in good terms with local people, but then maybe that isn't their concern.

Hi Mary. Not a lot of public transport or Uber/Lyft other ride share options., there is the Link Bus, and a single taxi which services the area.
Unfortunately they don't do tours of the Data Center due to multiple security reason. The sites are not open to the public. Lots of Googlers walk the river front trail between the 2 sites and are always very friendly and are happy to talk to people for the most part. You can walk the river front trail and walk by them though. I hope your partner gets better soon.
