Typical inadequate services Los Angeles. The post that they close at 4:30 but actually close at 4. Then say they don't know why the closing time hasn't been updated and that it's been like that for a while. Homeless people all over the place sleeping in the grass. What a sh** hole.

The city is in bed with landlords and businesses! I've had a completely obnoxious noise situation right outside my window from the florist shop downstairs. The noise inspectors came and measured the sound from the inside rather than the outside, so they said this horrible noise is completely legal in a commercial zone! Unbelievable! My basic right to peace and quiet in my apartment is completely ignored! I believe they are corrupt because the fixed equipment guidelines I found online said they would measure from the OUTSIDE, but they measured from the INSIDE. They're not following the regulations as they are written, they're giving businesses and my evil landlord a complete pass!!! Tenants have no rights in Los Angeles, apparently! No rights whatsoever!!!

I called today to get information about permits for a property we were interested in purchasing. I spoke with Debbie and she was very helpful in answering all of my questions. She also gave me the name and phone number of the code enforcement officer I needed to contact. I had a positive experience and appreciated Debbie's patience and help.

Yes, a permit and inspections are required to replace your bathtub and shower tile. Inspectors will check the rough plumbing, water barriers, and materials used.

No, but you should test for asbestos before you start the removal. And that may require a permit
Usually not.
You got to call them and ask
Yes, converting your garage to an ADU, "guess unit" no carport in needed. Must have a small kitchen, full bathroom and separate entrance, not thru the house.
If you are looking for an official answer Call 311 they will know
Ladbs website and type in your address under permits. History
You need an engendered plan and submit it
You will have to have someone research your particular parcel, to find out the zoning restrictions impacting you, or make an inquiry by contacting the planning and zoning departments. In most parts of Los Angeles City, you're usually not allowed to park vehicles in the front yard setback.
Whose
Ladbs.org property activity report
Zoning clearance but no plan check.
Yes
Yes, most likely
Yes, but first you must talk to zoning for clearance, height requirements and any potential restrictions in your area. Plans may also be required. Consult your local building and safety zoning department before commencing any work.
It is upstairs. You will see double sided curved staircases. You'll see people going toward or out of that direction. From the street, it should be on your left hand side where there is a cashier looking booth on the 1st floor before these staircases. You can ask the cops for directions too. That's what I had to do since it's difficult to find.
It is a safety issue. I would talk to them first. If that doesn't work I suggest you go to city hall, 2nd floor and talk to the inspector for your area.
I believe you were you would want to contact housing authorities and or your management company

I’ve been a Realtor since 2001. No, you don’t need an inspection or permit from the city to list the home there. Unless the area requires permits to erect a for sale sign (Example: private community, or HOA)
Going to the local Building & Safety Office and pulling permits for your home, may show the original construction method
